Political Leadership is Out of Touch with the People’s Desire for Islam

Advocates of Democracy from across the political spectrum on 3 December 2017 unanimously called on state institutions, including the military and the judiciary, to stay out of politics and allow democracy to take root in the country. The rare gathering of key leaders from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and the Awami National Party (ANP), who came together for the launch of veteran politician Makhdoom Javed Hashmi’s third book, expressed concern over recent events in the country, where religion was used to whip up political sentiment. “I ask all political parties, rightist or leftist, to beware of renewed efforts to use religion for the advancement of political agendas,” said Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani.

The advocates of Democracy are out of touch with the sentiments of the Muslim. They advocate the detachment of religion from politics, whereas the demand of the Muslims is for Islam to govern all of their affairs. In reality the present system in Pakistan is no different to the oppressive rule of the British before partition. Indeed it was the British Parliament that created Pakistan’s initial legislation under its Indian Independence Act of 1947. Pakistan did not produce its first constitution until 1956; this and every subsequent constitution, including the present 1973 constitution, has been framed around British secular law. The secular nature of Pakistan’s legislation has been a huge embarrassment for successive governments and elected representatives because the people of Pakistan had been led to believe that Pakistan was created for Islam. Consequently, the rulers have attempted to superficially conceal secularism by using Islamic terminology or by introducing provisions that are claimed to be Islamic, for example the designation of Friday as the weekly holiday or the prohibition of serving food at marriages. Meanwhile, more substantial matters, such as the elimination of riba (usury) from the economy, endure extensive discussion and debate but without ever reaching the stage of implementation. Therefore, despite all the discussion of Islamisation, the reality of the present system is that it remains very much secular, modelled on legislation found in Western countries and having no relationship with the true Islamic legislation.

Islam has obligated all Muslims to live every aspect of life according to Allah’s rules and made adherence to Allah’s judgments a matter of Iman. Allah (swt) says,

It is not befitting for a believing man or woman to have any choice in a matter, when it has been decided upon by Allah and His Messenger.”

(Surah Al-Ahzab 33:36)

Bajwa Conveys “Mad Dog” Mattis’s Marching Orders

Top military brass said on 5 December 2017 that the army would help achieve peace in Afghanistan and the region at large. The commitment was expressed at the conclusion of the monthly conference of corps commanders that discussed the situation in Afghanistan in addition to regional peace and internal security. “The forum concluded to continue efforts towards internal enduring peace while contributing towards peace in Afghanistan and the region,” said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations at the conclusion of the corps commanders meeting presided over by Army Chief Gen Qamar Bajwa at the General Headquarters. The meeting took place a day after US Defence Secretary James Mattis visited Pakistan to push the country’s political and military leaders to step up their fight against militants and terrorists allegedly operating from here.

Consider the messenger of Trump’s message, James Mattis. “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.” That’s the stark advice given to Marines in Iraq in 2003 by retired four-star General James Mattis, the man President-elect Donald Trump has named as his defence secretary. Gen Mattis, who is dubbed “Mad Dog”, is known as much for his memorable turn of phrase as his uncompromising approach to America’s enemies.

As for the message, it is for our armed forces to secure the US presence in Afghanistan, which is as far from establishing “peace” as you can get. Thus the spineless rulers of Pakistan are working to persuade the Afghan Muslims that laying down arms to enter talks with the crusaders, is a victory for Muslims, even though RasuAllah ﷺ said, «مَا تَرَكَ قَوْمٌ الْجِهَادَ إلاّ ذُلّوا» “No people abandon Jihad except that they are humiliated” [Ahmad]. It is clear throughout the glorious history of Islam that the Muslim who adheres to Jihad is honored by it, no matter how weak, bringing humiliation to the enemy, no matter how powerful.

It is upon the Muslims to reject any efforts to orchestrate talks, disobeying spineless rulers that are intent on saving the disbelieving colonialist from humiliation, by averting the Muslims from Jihad in the Way of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) warned,

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّه

Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the Way of Allah.”

(Surah Al-Anfal 8:36)

Muslims must reject the efforts for talks, tearing up the insidious US plan, so that Trump’s troops retreat from the region in complete humiliation, never daring to return again, like the British Imperialists and Soviet Russians before them.

Pakistan Army is Willing and Able to Liberate Al-Quds and Awaits Orders from a Khaleefah Rashid

Pakistan on 6 December 2017 reaffirmed full solidarity with the Palestinian people and expressed concern over the proposed move by the United States to shift its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, saying “such a step would constitute a clear violation of international law and UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions”. A statement issued by the Prime Minister Office stated that shifting the US embassy to the “occupied City of Al-Quds Al-Sharif will alter the legal and historical status of the city”. US President Donald Trump told Arab leaders on 5 December that he intends to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, a decision that breaks with decades of US policy and risks fuelling further unrest in the Middle East.

As the Muslims stir restlessly with Trump’s latest attack on their Deen, the rulers of Pakistan are scrambling to save themselves from the wrath of the Muslims. What nonsense to speak of solidarity with the Palestinian people, without moving to action. the sacrifice and brave struggle of the Muslims of Palestine alone will never be enough to liberate Palestine and Masjid Al-Aqsa, unless the Muslim armies move in their support. Muslim history provides testimony to the fact that whenever Muslim Lands were occupied by Kuffar, including Palestine, they were always liberated by Muslim armed forces. Even today Masjid Al-Aqsa and the Muslims of Palestine are waiting of today’s Salahuddin Ayubi who will liberate them from occupation once again. The Kuffar and the rulers over Muslims wish to reduce this issue to the issue of the people of Palestine alone rather than the issue of all the Muslims, in the vain hope that the Muslims around the world would become detached from this issue. However, the responsibility for the liberation of Masjid Al-Aqsa and Palestine does not rest upon a particular army, rather it is a duty upon all Muslim armies, as this issue is the Ummah’s issue.

The Muslim armies will never be mobilized if the current rulers remain over the necks of the Muslims. It is imperative for the armies of Muslims to uproot these traitorous rulers by providing Nussrah to Hizb ut Tahrir for re-establishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. Only then will the Khalifah Rashid unify all Muslim lands and their armies under the banner of RasulAllah ﷺ. Only then will he personally lead the mighty Muslim armed forces to liberate Masjid Al-Aqsa and the whole of Palestine, to fulfill the glad tidings of RasulAllah ﷺ inshaaAllah.
