Why Facilitate Afghan Talks for the US to Stay, When it is Clearly Ready to Leave, Down to the Last Private Military Contractor?
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met the Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and other top officials during a one-day trip to Doha on 30 December 2018. Qureshi and the Qatari officials in their meetings discussed the overall regional situation, as well as the Afghan peace process. The visit is after the foreign minister concluded a whirlwind, three-day four-nation tour of Kabul, Tehran, Beijing and Moscow in connection with the Afghan peace process.
The Bajwa-Imran regime continues to make strenuous efforts, running East and West, to secure a deal to ensure that the besieged, floundering American private military and military forces remain in Afghanistan. They are doing so even though the US Pentagon has fallen to the level of bribing the resolute Afghan Taliban to lay down their weapons. The Dawn Newspaper reported on 27 December 2018 that, ““Although some members of the Taliban may be weary of fighting and ready to lay down their weapons, they will only rejoin society if they believe their safety and the safety of their families are guaranteed, and if they have an opportunity to earn enough money to provide for their families,” says the plan that the Pentagon sent to Congress this week, along with proposals for addressing US security concerns and the interests of Afghanistan’s neighbors.”
It is upon the Muslims of Pakistan to use their influence upon the Afghan Taliban, whether through their ulema or their intelligence agencies, to categorically reject talks with America and face them on the battlefield alone until they retreat like the Soviet invaders before them, until the very last private military contractor and soldier. Allah (swt) said, وَلَا تَهِنُوا فِي ابْتِغَاءِ الْقَوْمِ إِن تَكُونُوا تَأْلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأْلَمُونَ وَتَرْجُونَ مِنَ اللَّـهِ مَا لَا يَرْجُونَ وَكَانَ اللَّـهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا “And do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you should be suffering – so are they suffering as you are suffering, but you expect from Allah that which they expect not. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise” [Surah an-Nisaa’ 4:104]. Let the world see how the arrogant thug of the world failed miserably in the first of its impending great failures in the Muslim World. Allah (swt) said, وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ “Do not give up and do not be downhearted. You shall be uppermost if you are believers.” [Surah Aali-Imran 3:139]
Ills of Pakistan Can Only be Resolved by Implementing Islam through the Establishment of the Khilafah in 2019
Upon the occasion of the Christian Era new year, Imran Khan, declared in a 1 January tweet that his government would “wage jihad against the four ills of our country: poverty, illiteracy, injustice and corruption.” “InshaAllah 2019 is the beginning of Pakistan’s golden era,” the Prime Minister added.
The current leadership champions the cause of ending corruption and bringing change but neglects the real cause of the ills Pakistan is afflicted by today. Poverty is always the product of the capitalist economic system, no matter how much wealth is produced. Consider the year before last, 2017. The World Bank put global GDP at roughly $80 trillion in nominal terms for 2017, but at the same time 82% of the money generated in 2017 went to the richest 1% of the global population, whilst the poorest half saw no increase at all and 42 people had as much wealth as the poorest half of the world. Illiteracy is the result of poverty produced by the capitalist economic system, as education is a luxury after barely meeting their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. Injustice is because of the judicial system left by the British Raj, which judges matters by kufr Anglo-Saxon law rather than the Quran and Sunnah. Corruption is the direct cause of democracy as it grants law making to rulers, so they use this power to legalize their corruption. That is why all over the world people see their politicians as corrupt who only work for themselves, rather than for the people they claim to represent.
Pakistan’s ills can only be eliminated by implementing Islam through the re-establishment of Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophrthood. Islam ensures elimination of poverty by focusing on distribution of wealth instead of just producing wealth. Allah (swt) said, كَيْ لَا يَكُونَ دُولَةً بَيْنَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ مِنكُمْ “So that wealth does not solely circulate amongst the richest amongst you.” (Surah Al-Hashr 59:7). Islam declares that whoever judges a matter from other than Revelation is an oppressor. Allah (swt) said, وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَحۡكُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَاُولٰٓـئِكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ “Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are indeed the oppressors.” (Surah al-Maidha 5:45). And Islam declares that Allah (swt) alone decides what is Halaal and Haraam and not an assembly of human-beings. Allah (swt) said, فَاحۡكُمۡ بَيۡنَهُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ اَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ الۡحَـقِّ “and do not follow their desires in disregard of the Truth which has come to you.” (Surah al-Maidah 5:48). So the Muslims of Pakistan must turn away from the current Kufr system and work day and night in 2019 to establish the ruling by all that Allah (swt) has revealed for a real golden era.
Relentless Indian Aggression is Due to the Weak Stance of Pakistan’s Rulers
A woman was killed and nine other people, including two police constables, were injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on 31 December 2018, as Indian troops resorted to “ruthless” mortar shelling, across the Line of Control (LoC). The attack on the last day of 2018 in Athmuqam, the district headquarters of the picturesque Neelum Valley, was so intense that Abbas Mir, a schoolteacher said, “The shelling was so indiscriminate that we thought they [Indians] will devastate everything existing on the ground”. According to Saeed Qureshi, a senior officer at State Disaster Management Authority, the Indian shelling pushed the death toll in AJK alone in the outgoing year to 28, including 19 men and 9 women, and the number of injured to 172, including 92 men and 80 women. The Indian aggression is due to the weak stance of Pakistan’s rulers, who are begging it to sit for negotiation and talks, as Indians shed pure Muslim blood. The weakness of Pakistan’s rulers is an American demand. America wants to remove Pakistan as an obstacle to the rise of India and accept to play second fiddle to an Indian regional head.
A sincere, independent leadership would launch a befitting response to Indian aggression, not by merely matching the intensity of the attack but by liberating the whole of Kashmir. Such a response would halt Indian aggression in its tracks and scare its shayateen away. Such a response would have revived memories of the era of the Khilafah, when Muhammad Bin Qasim attacked the Hindu ruler of Sindh, Raja Dahir, and opened Sindh to Islam after his oppression of Muslims. Such a response would have revived the honor of the response of the Khalifah Muttasim opened Ammoria upon the cry of a single, oppressed Muslim woman. Instead, the current military and political leadership meets aggression with submission and bloodshed with cries for normalization. Halting Indian aggression does not require requests for peace, but defiance in the face of the oppressor. Allah (swt) said, يٰأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ قَاتِلُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُمْ مِّنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ وَلِيَجِدُواْ فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً وَٱعْلَمُوۤاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ “O you who believe, fight those who are close to you of the disbelievers and let them find harshness in you.” [Surah at-Tawbah 9:123]. Regarding the Hindu mushrikeen, their enmity is part of their nature and the protection, peace and security is through their submission to Islam. Allah (swt) warned, لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَدَاوَةً لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا “You will surely find that of all the people, the most hostile to the believers are the Jews and the mushrikeen.” [Surah al-Maidah 5:82].
Let us turn our backs on the neglectful Bajwa-Imran regime, who has abandoned the long suffering Muslims of Occupied Kashmir to Indian dominance. Let us strive for the re-establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood so we are blessed by rulers who strive to fulfil the commands of Allah (swt), rather than the dictates of colonialists. Only such rulers will give truly befitting responses to our enemies. Allah (swt) said, فَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَتَدْعُوا إِلَى السَّلْمِ وَأَنْتُمْ الأَعْلَوْنَ وَاللَّهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَتِرَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ “Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when you are the uppermost: for Allah is with you, and will never put you in loss for your (good) deeds.” [Surah Muhammad 47:35]
