End Military Alliance with the United States, the Rogue Terrorist State

Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani declared on 24 December 2017, “Two days ago, Pence had the gall, the audacity to say that Trump has put Pakistan on notice… Let the word ring out in clear terms that Pakistan is a sovereign state and is not in the habit of taking notices from anyone, let alone the US.”

Why leave it at words? Why not put it in deeds so that the US finally gets what it deserves? It is time to tear up the military alliance with the US. Alliance with the US yields neither goodness in neither Dunya nor Aakhira. Alliance with the US has already cost Pakistan $123.1 billion since 9-11, with an addition of $3.9 billion in the outgoing fiscal year alone according to the Economic Survey of Pakistan for 2016-17. This is in addition to the human losses from the civilian population and armed forces. In comparison, the US has sanctioned $33.4 billion for reimbursements to Pakistan during the past 15 years, 44% of which was on account of services that Islamabad rendered to support Washington’s anti-terror operations in Afghanistan. As for the Aakhira, the rulers have neglected the obligation to fight the occupying forces of the US in Afghanistan, even though Allah (swt) said, وَقَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ “And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:190] Worse, they have allied militarily with the aggressors, even though RasulAllah ﷺ said, «لاَ تَسْتَضِيئُوا بِنَارِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ» “We do not seek light from the fire of the disbelievers.” [Ahmad], where Fire in the Hadith, is a Kinaya (Allusion) to warfare.

The Muslims of Pakistan have suffered and will continue to suffer as long as advocates of Democracy look after their affairs. Democracy rejects the command of Islam on the basis of the mere vote of the majority of parliamentarians. The only way forwards for the Muslims of Pakistan is the re-establishment of the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood.

Democracy is a Trap to Divert Muslims from the Khilafah on the Method of Prophethood

Notwithstanding the opposition by the interior ministry to entry of offshoots of proscribed entities into the national political arena, Jamaatud Dawa Emir Hafiz Muhammad Saeed opened an office of a subsidiary of the JuD in Lahore on 24 December 2017. He inaugurated an office of the Milli Muslim League (MML), the political face of the JuD, which surfaced in the by-polls for NA-120 in September 2017 and gained fourth position with votes double than the tally of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-i-Islami combined, is yet to be registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

It is the desire of the United States to trap Muslims within Democracy, so that they do not work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood. The Muslims must not participate in Democracy in any way whatsoever because it is a non-Islamic system. They must neither stand as candidates to rule within Democracy, nor vote for candidates that stand. In Democracy, laws are made according to the whims and desires of men and women, gathered in a parliament, even though Allah (swt) ordered,وَأَنِ ٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُمْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ وَٱحْذرْهُمْ أَن يَفْتِنُوكَ عَن بَعْضِ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ “And judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their desires, and beware (O Muhammad) that they might seduce you from some of what Allah has sent down to you.” [Surah al-Maida 5:49]. In the Khilafah, which is Islam’s ruling system, no law can be implemented unless it is derived from the Quran and the Sunnah.

Muslims must not waste any more energy by looking for real change in the wrong place. How can Muslims expect the blessings of Allah (swt), peace, security and prosperity, through a system build on disobedience, sin and transgression? Muslims must commit fully to the Deen and its implementation through the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. Instead of falling into the trap of Democracy, Muslims must work for real change by standing with the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir as they strive to re-establish the Khilafah on the Method of the Prophethood in the lands of Pakistan, the Pure, the Good; a land established in August 1947 in the name of Islam.

Abolish Democracy to End Capitalism and Colonialist Loans

Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani said on 26 December 2017 foreign loans come with strings as lenders’ conditions infringe upon national sovereignty, while addressing the 41st Export Awards ceremony of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). “I’d suggest that if we have a choice between exports and foreign loans, then we should go for the former in order to safeguard our sovereignty,” he maintained. He said it was easy to get foreign loans. But when the payback time comes, it is always difficult to dish out funds to even pay the interest, leave alone the principle, out of scarce resources, he said. Mr Rabbani said global lenders always impose conditions that infringe upon national sovereignty. They also try to influence the system, he said, adding that countries like Pakistan give away a portion of their sovereignty in the process.

The advocate for Democracy, Rabbani, is stating the obvious. Economic alliance with colonialist powers is always constructed to exploit the weaker nation. This has led to the crippling of Pakistan’s economy over decades. However, ending colonialist loans is not enough as long as Democracy remains. Democracy ensures the implementation of man-made laws in the first place, which not only permitted taking interest based, exploitative loans but also implemented capitalism, which concentrates wealth in the hands of a few. The economic system in capitalism benefits the colonialist and the traitors within the political and military leadership, whilst oppressing tens of millions. Under the guise of “freedom of ownership,” it allows the colonialist and their agents to own public resources and hence oppress the masses by selling these resources to them at unaffordable prices. Pakistan’s current energy crisis is just one example. Power generation plants as well as oil and gas sector were privatized and their control was handed over to the colonialist, their companies and their agents.

In the Khilafah system, public properties cannot be privatized rather the people are its actual owner, whilst the state only administers them on people’s behalf. RasulAllah ﷺ said,«الْمُسْلِمُونَ شُرَكَاءُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ الْمَاءِ وَالْكَلَإِ وَالنَّارِ» “The Muslims are partners in three things, waters, feeding pastures and fire.” (Ahmad) According to this hadith, all energy resources, including oil and gas wells, coal mines and electricity generation plants will never be privatized. So, the Khilafah will neither impose taxes on these public properties, nor profiteer from them. This will significantly reduce the prices of power and fuel, providing relief for the masses and new life to the crippled industry and agricultural sector. Moreover, Islam has mandated that the revenues generated through the export of these public properties are placed in the Khilafah’s treasuries and spent on all the citizens of the Khilafah, regardless of their race, gender, language or religion.

The Khilafah’s revenue generation also stands apart from the Capitalist system. RasulAllah ﷺ said, «لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ صَاحِبُ مَكْسٍ» “The collector of taxes will not enter heaven.” (Ahmad). According to this Hadith, nobody is allowed to tax the people at will and the revenues for the Khilafah’s state treasury are only those ordained by Allah (swt). This denies the ruler the oppressive “right” to impose taxation, whenever and however he likes. But the current system in Pakistan has provided democrats and dictators full authority to establish revenues which are not allowed in Islam. In fact, for the past sixty years, colonialist agent rulers have successively increased taxation to the point that today, GST and other indirect taxes make up more than half of the total revenue, causing misery for tens of millions. In Islam, the people’s private property has sanctity and the Khilafah state cannot rob its citizens under the guise of “taxation”. Only Allah (swt) decides which revenues are fair as well as who should pay them. Islam has its own unique system of revenue collection, including revenue from public properties, such as gas and oil, agricultural production, such as ushr and kharaj, and industrial manufacture through Zakah on goods, which will generate funds for looking after the people, without oppressing them.
