Pakistan’s Rulers Support Modi’s Brutal Occupation of Kashmir, Exaggerating the FATF Threat to Cover their Tracks
Minister for Finance Asad Umer on 11 March 2109 said that Islamabad has tackled the reservations raised by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) in regards to the functioning of banned outfits in the country. The finance minister added that the biggest reservation that was raised by FATF concerned the country’s failure to label banned organizations as ‘high risk’. He added that the reservation was addressed by an operation launched earlier by the federal government. Umar said that Islamabad had initiated action against the banned outfits and declared them the biggest threat to the country, adding that, “Now there is a chance that Pakistan would be cleared by September from the grey list.”
Using the FATF threat as an excuse, Pakistan’s rulers have taken steps against the organizations which remained active in supporting the resistance in Occupied Kashmir, capitulating to a key demand of Modi. They did so even though the Muslims of Pakistan consider the resistance in Occupied Kashmir as legitimate. The Muslims advocate moral, political, financial and military support for the resistance against the oppressive Hindu State. Knowing this and fearing public reaction, the regime has denied capitulation to Modi and said that it is for the national interest through removing Pakistan from the FATF grey list. However, the rulers have exaggerated the FATF threat to cover their tracks. FATF is an international body that originated in 1989 to counter money laundering from its member states. Although the FATF has taken on “terror” financing within its ambit after 9-11, it is merely a policy making body and cannot directly put sanctions on any country. As for the claim that it can effect borrowing from international financial institutions, this is an exaggeration as well. Pakistan was on the FATF grey-list from 2012 to 2015, yet it remained tied to the IMF program and borrowed $5 billion from the international bond markets. During this period Pakistan’s international trade continued as usual. Moreover, the colonialists want Pakistan to take loans from the international financial institutions, so they can subject its economy to the Washington Consensus, preventing it from emerging as a competitor to the colonialist powers. So much for the excuse of exaggerating the FATF threat.
Lies and deception will continue as long as Muslims have rulers that act upon elastic concepts such as national interest, rather than strictly adhering to the commands of Allah (swt) and His Messenger ﷺ. Islam has not only declared resistance against occupation as legitimate, it has declared it an obligation, that is to be supported militarily, financially and politically. The Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood will not only rescue Pakistan from the debt trap, it will mobilize Pakistan’s armed forces for the liberation of Occupied Kashmir. Allah (swt) said, وَمَا لَكُمْ لاَ تُقَاتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلْوِلْدَانِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا “And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of Allah, and for those weak and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors.” [Surah An-Nisa’a 4:75].

Pakistan on 12 March 2019 decided to take up the issue of violations of the Line of Control (LoC) by India at the forum of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC, PUOICM), which is holding its preliminary session from 10-14 March in Rabat, Morocco. The Pakistani delegation committed to urge the Ummah to take note of the prevailing situation in IOK and its serious implications for international and regional peace and security.
Why on earth is the Bajwa-Imran regime waking the OIC from its deep slumber? Pakistan has the largest Muslim armed forces in the world. Its forces have always been sought after by the rulers of the Gulf. If Pakistan cannot give a befitting response to the Indian aggression, what will others do? Our sons and brothers in the armed forces have ably demonstrated more than once that India is no match. The Pakistan Air Force promptly shot down two Indian Air Force jets, when they tried to enter our air space. Moreover, our armed forces are more than capable of liberating Occupied Kashmir from an Indian occupation which is faltering in front of poorly armed civilians.
Waking up the PUOICM, instead of mobilizing our armed forces, confirms that the Bajwa-Imran regime is not serious in giving a befitting response to Indian aggression. The regime exercises restraint and calls for normalization so that the US project to establish Indian hegemony in our region can be practically realized. If the Bajwa-Imran regime had been serious in shielding Muslims, it would have been following the command of Allah (swt) when He (swt) said, وَقَاتِلُوۡا فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِيۡنَ يُقَاتِلُوۡنَكُمۡ “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you.” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:190]. Going to the OIC is jut deflecting responsibility for all the current rulers of the Muslims, who neglect the liberation of Al-Aqsa and Kashmir, even though they collectively command over three million troops. Muslims must work for the re-establishment of Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, the shield of the Ummah.
The Khilafah (Caliphate) Will End Reliance on Foreign Military Hardware
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on 12 March 2019, successfully test-fired an indigenously developed, “extended range smart weapon” from a JF-17 Thunder aircraft, adding to the multi-role fighter jet’s capabilities. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan lauded the efforts of the scientists and engineers and congratulated the PAF personnel “on the achievement of this monumental indigenous capability.” The milestone in endogenous weapon manufacture is certainly welcome. Such milestones will be a specific focus of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, to end any dependence on the foreign enemy powers. Currently, the United States sells arms in a way to establish influence and authority over Pakistan. There are restrictions on the transfer of technology, as well as conditions over their use, making Pakistan hostage to the American supply of critical spare parts and ammunition. Moreover, Pakistan is sold outdated technology that is of no use to America.
Military preparations are an obligation as Allah (swt) said, وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُم مَّا اسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِّبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ “And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy” [Surah al-Anfal 8:60]. RasulAllah ﷺ said,«الإِمَامُ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ وَمَسْؤُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ» “The Imam (ruler) is a guardian and he is responsible for his subjects” (reported by Al-Bukhari from Abdullah Bin Umar). Laboratories and testing facilities for developing military weaponry are part of the affairs of the Ummah which the Imam must govern, and if he falls short he is accounted over it. Since the creation of inventions which are necessary for the sake of military preparations are not possible without these means of research, then to provide these means becomes an obligation upon the Khalifah in accordance with the principle, ما لا يتم الواجب إلا به فهو واجب “That, without which the obligation cannot be accomplished, is itself an obligation”. If they help to achieve these goals of military preparedness then they are part of the governing of the affairs which achieve benefits. So the Khilafah (Caliphate) will undertake the obligation until the Muslims are able to produce all weaponry including aircraft without any dependence on foreign enemy powers.
