Facing the Trump Administration’s Crusade Demands Pakistan becomes Khilafah

There has been alarm, caution and reassurances regarding the issue of Pakistani entry into America.  The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS)’s media release, “Statement on Countries Currently Suspended from Travel to the United States” of 3 February 2017, carried an assurance that Pakistan is not within the list of seven Muslim states facing travel bans. “Importantly, these seven countries are the only countries to which the pause on entry applies. No other countries face such treatment. Nor have any other countries been identified as warranting future inclusion at this time,” the DHS said in the statement.

However, there is something more fundamental than bans and threats of bans, which is the stance of the Trump administration towards Islam. This can be seen within the senior figures of Trump’s hand-picked administration such as Trump’s National Security Advisor, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (Ret.). Mr. Flynn, who was considered as a running mate for Trump, before Mike Pence was selected, delivered a speech in Dallas on 10 August 2016, at a gathering for the group “ACT! for America,” in which he said, “Islam is a political ideology. It is a political ideology. It definitely hides behind this notion of it being a religion…   It’s like cancer… And it’s like a malignant cancer, though, in this case. It has metastasized.” As for Steve Bannon, the Assistant to the President and Chief Strategist, in the summer of 2014 he spoke via Skype to a Vatican conference stating, “If you look back at the long history of the Judeo-Christian West struggle against Islam, I believe that our forefathers kept their stance, and I think they did the right thing. They kept it [Islam] out of the world, whether it was at Vienna, or Tours, or other places.”

The attitude of the United States towards the Muslim World, including Pakistan, is not simply that of a colonialist state seeking to exploit weaker states economically. There is a hatred towards Islam which compels the United States to attack Islam, its values and the Muslims adherence and loyalty to it. Obama sugar-coated that hatred, yet oversaw the spilling of blood of hundreds of thousands of Muslims. Trump is merely more upfront about it. At this time of fear, uncertainty and seeking of assurance, we must remember that it is our Deen that secured us from the Western crusaders in the past and it is our only Deen which will do so again. Safety and security did not lie in Washington, just as it does not lie in Beijing or Moscow. Economic prosperity does not lie in CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor), just as military security does not lie in military co-operation with Russia. When met with such a clear and open challenge to our dearest possession, our Deen, we must get ourselves in shape ourselves without becoming dependent on yet more non-Muslim states, which is a recipe for disappointment and disaster. Certainly, safety, security and prosperity lies in our Deen alone, which will unify the Muslims and their immense military and economic resources as one powerful state. By turning to the Deen of Allah سبحانه وتعالى through re-establishing the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Prophethood, we will earn His Nasr over the crusaders as decisively as we did in the past and all their efforts will have been in vain. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said,

Verily, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend it; but in the end it will become an anguish for them. Then they will be overcome”

(Al-Anfal: 36)

After America, now India demands from Pakistan to “Do More”

As reported in Dawn of 31 January 2017, the provincial authorities on 30 January 2017, issued orders to place Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed under house arrest, Dawn News reported and a JuD spokesperson later confirmed. Also as reported in Dawn on 1 February 2017, when questioned about the move during a media briefing, the DG ISPR said, “This is a policy decision that the state took in [the] national interest. Lots of institutions will have to do their jobs.” Jamaat-ud-Dawa is one amongst many groups aiding the Muslims of Kashmir, against the brutal Indian occupation, yet, the authorities announced to put the chief of the group under house arrest. Previously, the group was known to be working under the nose of authorities, as successive regimes in Pakistan have adopted a policy of supporting Kashmir cause, much to the anger of India. However in recent months, Pakistan’s current regime has intensified its efforts in curbing the groups, which have been supporting the resistance movement in Kashmir. This is part of the over-arching US plan to bury the Kashmir issue and “normalize” Pakistan-India relations so as to pave the way for India becoming an unopposed regional power, to curb Chinese power and the rise of any Muslim power. Contrary to the regime’s claim, this house arrest is not for Pakistan’s national interest but for US interests. Just before the house arrest move, as reported in “The News” dated 31 January 2017, Pakistan was pushed by Washington to decide whether it’s going to declare Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) as defunct or continue to give it a clean chit. However, this time the United States has clearly told Islamabad that in case of not following the ‘advice’, Pakistan may face punitive sanctions.

The US has been pushing Pakistan to submit before India by “normalizing” its relations with it and exercising “restraint” before its continued belligerency. In compliance to US demands, Pakistan’s current regime has already initiated measures for “normalization” by extending concessions to India, such as weakening the case of the Indian spy, Kulbashan Yadhav, curbing the Kashmiri Mujahideen based in Pakistan, attending 6th Heart of Asia Conference in India, offering India to share the fruits of CPEC and releasing a captured Indian soldier as a gesture of goodwill. However, India is still not pleased with the efforts and has demanded from Pakistan to “do more”. As reported in the Express Tribune of 31 January 2017, India`s foreign ministry spokesperson, Vikas Swarup, said, “We have also consistently called for bringing known terrorists under the ambit of the UN 1267 sanctions… Exercises such as yesterday’s orders against Hafiz Saeed and others have been carried out by Pakistan in the past also… Only a credible crackdown on the mastermind of the Mumbai terrorist attack and terrorist organizations involved in cross-border terrorism would be proof of Pakistan’s sincerity.”

Lying down before Indian demands will never bring peace. Peace in the subcontinent, stability for Pakistan and the true liberation of Kashmir will not be secured through “normalization” and facilitating the growth of Indian hegemony. And there will never be peace and prosperity whilst the Hindus have a state and authority through which to harm the Muslims.

Neither those who followed earlier revelation who deny the truth, nor the Mushrikeen like to see good bestowed upon you from your Sustainer; but Allah bestows grace upon whom He chooses – for Allah is limitless in His great bounty.”

(al-Baqarah 2:105)

The current regime is leading Pakistan towards political, economic, cultural and military subjugation before India. Submitting to the colonialists, the regime has brought Pakistan to a point where India dictates its direction. It is only the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the Method of the Prophethood, which will eradicate the Indian and American presence from Pakistan and abolish their hegemony. It will re-unify the Muslims of India, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Nothing short of the current subservience to the colonialists and restoration of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood will rescue Pakistan from the path of humiliation before India.

Indian Threat to Water Supply Demands Restoration of the Khilafah

As reported in Dawn, dated 2 February 2017, The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) says that Pakistan’s delays in presenting the cases of dispute with India to the Indus Water Commission or the World Bank on the issues related to the Indus Waters Treaty have caused the issues to linger on and remain un-addressed. After the martyrdom of Burhan Wani, a young Kashmiri freedom fighter, followed by the Uri-attack incident in which 19 Indian soldiers were killed, India has been putting diplomatic, military and economic pressure on Pakistan, escalating tensions. India publicly announced its desire to “isolate” Pakistan and soon after went even further, by threatening to choke Pakistan’s water supplies. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 26 2016, said, “Blood and water can’t flow together”. Thereafter India has abandoned the scheduled bi-lateral meeting under Indus Water treaty and has ordered its officials to expedite the water storage projects in a bid to block Pakistan’s water. Pakistan is an agriculture country and water serves as a lifeline for its survival. The 1960 water sharing arrangement, the Indus Waters Treaty, handed Pakistan the right to unrestricted use of the three western rivers of Indus, Chenab and Jhelum, whilst the eastern rivers of Sutlej, Beas and Ravi went to India. The treaty allowed India to divert the waters of the eastern rivers, whilst it could only tap into 3.6 MAF of water from the western rivers for irrigation, transport and power generation. In all, India is in different phases of planning or construction of some sixty storages of varying capacity, over the six Indus Rivers though some reports suggest the number to be even higher. Many experts fear that the number of these projects and their combined considerable capacity of few projects will severely compromise Pakistan’s water supply in the near future.

India is playing for time so that its projects can be completed or at least be brought in a shape where roll back can be resisted, by changing the facts on the ground. By lingering the issue, leaving the matter to be resolved by the US or its proxy the World Bank, the current regime is facilitating India. The regime turn to the same colonialists who gave leverage to India in the 1960 treaty itself, by allowing it to even built dams on western rivers to store up to 3.6 MAF water, which allowed it to exploit Pakistan’s water supply during dry days and flood Pakistan with excess water during wet days. If it had the slightest degree of sincerity and care for its people, the regime would have announced measures for a war-footing, extending to military action and forced the resolution of the matter before further Indian initiatives. However, instead the regime imperils Pakistan, by choosing to be a loyal stooge for the colonialist America.

In the Khilafah upon the Method of the Prophethood, water is a public property and is considered amongst the basic needs. It is the responsibility of the Khilafah state to provide water to each and every one of its citizens. The Khilafah will not bow down to the US or India for its needs, rather it will work to diminish their influence and hegemony in the region. The Khilafah state will unify the Muslims lands and accordingly will liberate and annex Kashmir, which is currently being occupied by India. The Indus, Chenab and Jhelum all flow through Jammu and Kashmir, which India seeks to use as a means for leverage over Pakistan. With Kashmir and many of other lands being annexed with Khilafah, it will be Hindu leadership which will be made to submit before the Islamic state on the way to re-opening the entire Indian Subcontinent to Islam.
