On Saturday 3 October 2015, Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia has successfully organized the Khilafah Conference 2015, at the Nouvelle Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, under the theme “Uniting the Ummah for Real Change in Implementing the Shariah under the Khilafah”. It was attended by more than 1000 participants, including Muslims from Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Singapore. The conference included the following speakers: Br. Osman Bakhash, Director of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir who spoke on the lessons learned from the Arab Spring; Dr. Mohamed Malkawi of Hizb ut Tahrir / Jordan, Br. Hafidz Abdurrahman, a member of the Central Contacts Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir / Indonesia,  Br. Umar Hussein, a member of the Central Contacts Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia and Br. Abdul Hakim Othman, Head of the Media Office in Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia.

The conference stressed various significant points, among others: the artificially-imposed  Western-made nation states which kept the Ummah divided and weak; the uprising of the Arab world, which manifested the aspiration of the Ummah in desiring for change, but sadly ended up in disappointment due to the active role of the colonial Western powers in preventing the emergence of the Khilafah; the potential of Nusantara (Malay Archipelagos) as a seed for the Khilafah and the real change needed by the Muslim Ummah which can only be realized by replacing the secular-capitalist system by the Islamic system (the Khilafah) which implement the Shariah in its entirety.

The conference made it very clear that the Muslim Ummah, despite having one belief, following the same Book of Guidance (al-Quran) and the same Messenger ﷺ, remain divided and disunited, after the abolishment of the Khilafah in 1924. The disbelieving colonialists and their agent rulers in Muslim countries implemented Kufr ideologies and laws in Muslim lands which resulted in various calamities one after another on the Ummah. The Ummah has been rising ever since for the establishment of Khilafah upon the methodology of the Prophethood and consequently manifested in the recent Arab Spring, and the on-going struggle in Syria, as clearly stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov who called in the UN Security Council Session last Tuesday (28 September) for an international coalition comprising of the US, European powers, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran to prevent the rise of the Khilafah.

However, until now, the so-called revolution has not brought about real change that the Ummah is seeking. The conference has also made it clear that although being the dominant states today, Western nations are always fearful against the rise of the Khilafah and they have been doing everything possible to prevent its undeniable return. Hizb ut Tahrir affirms clearly that this noble Ummah will only achieve real change by replacing the current corrupt man-made system with the implementation of Shariah under the shade of the Khilafah al-Rashidah upon the method of the Prophethood, which Hizb ut Tahrir has been working to re-establish since 1953.
