As reported in The News (29-Dec-16), Former Chief of Army Staff, General (retd) Raheel Sharif is expected to be appointed defence advisor of Saudi Arabia-led military alliance of 39 Muslim countries to fight terrorism. Raheel Sharif, who recently retired as Pakistan’s Army Chief, has arrived in Saudi Arabia as a Royal Guest in a special plane. A grand reception is hosted in his honour in Riyadh, the capital of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It will also be attended by the members of Saudi Royal family.

America in its global campaign to prevent the re-emergence of the political system of Islam (i.e. Khilafah) and enforce secularism and democracy in the Muslim world in a bid to suppress Islam and assert its own hegemony has actually weakened its global position as a super-power. America has realized that its years of military intervention in Muslim countries like Afghanistan and Iraq to suppress Islam has failed miserably, infact it has back-fired as political resurgence and unrest has risen amongst Muslims across the globe. Muslim rulers were already in service to the America and its crusader allies; however, America planned and wanted the Muslim armies to collaborate on a bigger scale in safeguarding its interests. On 29/11/2015, Senator Lindsey Graham along with John McCain said in a TV interview that in future MOST of the fighting will have to be done by the Middle East countries and will also pay for the war expenses.
In compliance to the US plans, a grand military alliance of 34 Muslim countries (which has now expanded to 39 countries) was announced by Saudi Arabia on 15th December 2015 to combat “terrorism”. The countries included in this alliance are Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Tunisia, Sudan, Malaysia, Egypt, Yemen and others. By forming such an alliance, America not only intends to reduce engagement of its huge number of military personal and heavy expenditure, but also wants to deceive the Muslim Ummah under the pretext that their own Muslim armies are fighting “Terrorism” instead of preserving the American interest. The purpose of this Islamic alliance, engineered by America is to prevent the revival of Islamic system and safeguarding its interests in the Muslim world especially for the Middle East and that is why the US felt relieved with the announcement of this alliance. The US welcomed the announcement of the anti-terrorism alliance, with Defense Secretary Ashton Carter telling reporters in Turkey: “We look forward to learning more about what Saudi Arabia has in mind in terms of this coalition…But in general, it appears it is very much in line with something we’ve been urging for quite some time, which is greater involvement in the campaign to combat ISIL by Sunni Arab countries.”
As for General Raheel Sharif’s entire tenure is characterized by service to US objectives for the region. More than a decade long war in Afghanistan with nothing as achievement to send back home, humiliated America and its allies failed miserably in this war. The tribal belt in Pakistan was pivotal in providing support to the resistance movement in Afghanistan which if not crushed the lost war could have endangered its hegemony in the region. Then under General Raheel Sharif, military operation “Zarb-e-Azb” started, the Pashtuns living in the tribal belt were subjected to atrocities as a punishment for their Islamic sentiments, with their houses and properties destroyed, making them into refugees, Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) living in miserable conditions and then re-settled with iron-fist policies, including employing collective punishments, removal of roofs from houses to allow observation and check-posts to curb movements and support to the resistance movement in Afghanistan, all done in a bid to rescue America from humiliating defeat. It is Rtd. General Raheel who played a key role in turning the tides of this war for America to give it some face-saving and America has been acknowledging the same. As reported in Dawn on 23 November, the US State Department shared with Dawn a statement issued by the US Embassy in Islamabad, stating that General Raheel was “a valued and respected partner in the regional fight against terrorism throughout his years as army chief”.
Raheel Sharif’s services were so highly regarded that he was seen as the best suited man who could also lead/guide the Islamic armies in preserving American interests in the Muslim lands. And for this reason, almost eight months prior to Raheel’s retirement, America prepared a plan for his post retirement assignment. As reported in The News (10-Mar-16), the alliance of 34 countries is pressing General Raheel Sharif to become the military alliance’s coalition commander-in-chief after his retirement, revealed US military and political sources.
The Muslims must realize if these Islamic military alliances were ever sincere then when the spoiled child of America, the Jewish entity, spilled the blood of Muslims in Palestine in rivers and violated al-Aqsa, the first Kibla, the rulers of the Muslims kept the armies chained to their barracks. When the idol-worshiping Hindus slaughtered Muslims and dishonored the chaste Muslim women, the rulers of Muslims did not mobilize the armies. When the Buddhist Mushrikeen of Myanmar killed thousands of Rohingya Muslims, burning their bodies, the rulers of Muslims did not mobilize the armies. When Syria and the people of Aleppo were being massacred right in front of our eyes, they did not move an inch but to shake hands and defend the colonial powers. And the situation elsewhere in the Muslim world is no different or hidden from the Muslims.
Muslims must not let themselves be deceived by these military alliances engendered by the crusaders for their interests. It is the re-emergence of Khilafah which these colonial powers fear the most and are working day and night to prevent its return. It is only Khilafah upon the method of Prophethood which will unite the Islamic armies not to defend these belligerent colonial states but to stand against it and liberate the Muslim and Islamic lands which has seen enough of its atrocities. It is only Khilafah through which Islam will be implemented and Muslims will be defended and re-united.
The master of Prophets, RasulAllah ﷺ said, «إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ» “The Imam is a shield, behind him you fight and by him you are protected.” (Muslim)
