Is Suella’s Contempt for Islam a Hate Incident?

In a self-righteous article in The Times, British Home Secretary Suella Braverman clumsily exposes her hypocritical stance towards Islam and Muslims in Britain. Similar to how her extremist mentor Michael Gove totally disregarded the children or indeed the facts with his fabricated Trojan horse plot, Braverman is exploiting the children of Wakefield for her narrow and nefarious aims.

She declares the Muslim community bigoted for holding the view that we are uniquely incapable of controlling ourselves if we feel provoked! Such a slanderous and false statement can only come from the mouths of those who make deals with the butcher of Gujarat; who want Muslims to remain silent about the Hindutva mob incitement leading to the murder of Muslims in India, which has now made its way to Britain. They want Muslims to remain silent in the face of increased right wing attacks, as they themselves intend to brush them under the carpet. They wish for us to remain silent about the daily atrocities committed against Muslims in Palestine. Most of all they wish for us to remain silent about our Islam which can lift them out of the dark misery that their secular system has produced.

When Muslims meet in a mosque, which is the most natural thing to do for a Muslim community, then it is “like a Shariah law trial”, she writes. Her venomous description exposes the British establishment’s deep hatred for Islam. The government and media have long spoken about the Islamic Shariah with utter contempt, labelling it backward and even un-Islamic, despite every aspect of it being derived from the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet (saw).

Secularists like Suella and her secular extremist colleagues want Muslims to treat Islam as contemptuously as she does. She would like for British Muslims to embrace their entirely fabricated “secular Muslim” religion and reject the clear teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. What exactly is she offering in exchange for abandoning the Deen of truth?

Allah (swt) says:

“Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into the light. And those who disbelieve – their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darkness. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein.” [TMQ Baqarah (2): 257].

Can she offer the followers of her British secular Islam eternal life in Jannah (Paradise)?

We are inspired by the words of the great follower of the Sahaba Salamah Ibn Dinar. The Khalifah (caliph) said to him “Request from us your need, O Abu Hazim, we shall grant for you, whatever it is.” He replied, “My need is that you save me from the fire and put me in heaven.” “That’s not my authority” said the Khalifah. So Abu Hazim replied, “Then, I have no need from you.”

Her empty words about free speech mean nothing to Muslims. Everyone has the right to protest, except Muslims it appears. Every blasphemy is tolerated except the criticism of democracy and its secular creed. For this crime of daring to think for yourself, exposing the systemic failure of Capitalism and believing Islam as the superior alternative, they will leave no stone unturned to criminalise such heresy; such is their secular inquisition.

The Muslim community needs to continue to stand up for our rights; to not allow ourselves to be bullied into silence about the many hate incidents that we and our beloved Ummah endure on a daily basis.

A century without a Khalifah, the shield which protects the Ummah from attack, has emboldened the secular elite to think they can dictate to us who are our leaders and how our Islam must be changed to fit into their miserable secular way of life. This we cannot accept, for Allah (swt) says:

(وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَاشْتَرَوْا بِهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ)

“And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book [saying] “You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it.” But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased.” [TMQ Al-Imran (3):187].
