Without Khilafah, the Plight of Muslim Women Extends from Al-Sham to the Far East

Without the Khilafah the shield of the Ummah, the suffering of Muslim women will never end. Last March was the bloodiest month in the Syrian conflict to date, with hundreds of Muslim women and children massacred in Al-Sham, the center of the abode of Islam. At the same time, thousands of Muslim Rohingya women in the Far East, oppressed by the tyrannical regime of Myanmar, have been expelled from their country and live in limbo, abandoned by the heartless Muslim rulers. Indonesian news agency, ANTARA reported on the 21st of April 2013 that Indonesian police had detained 76 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar in Tanglok Seaport, Madura Island, East Java Province, Indonesia on the evening of the 20th of April. The 76 refugees consisted of 48 men, 13 women, nine boys and six girls. According to The Arakan Project, it is estimated that 19,500 Rohingya Muslims have fled by boat from Bangladesh and North Arakan State toward Southeast Asian neighboring countries, with an estimated 100 people having drowned during the process. However, this is not the only ordeal being endured by Muslim women in the Far East. Thousands of the Sulu Muslim women and children have been oppressed by the Kufr regime in the Philippines, and then later in March became the victims of Malaysia’s blind nationalism in Sabah. They were persecuted and killed by the Malaysian government which considers the Sulu Muslims and sultanate as a foreign entity that invaded the territory of Sabah in Malaysia.

These are the facts of the heart-wrenching suffering of Muslim women, extending from the center of Islam, al Sham, to the countries in the far east of the Muslim world. They are helpless victims of predator Kufr rulers who have been allowed by the existing world system to target Muslims. They have also been neglected by the puppet Muslim rulers who are the colonial remnants of the Western capitalist countries- those who have aborted their sense of humanity and become adulators of the secular and capitalist world system. As long as the world system remains as it is today, the plight of Muslim women across the Muslim world undoubtedly will never end, because the base problem of all this suffering is nothing but the absence of the Khilafah as the shield for the Ummah – a state which would eliminate Kufr hegemony over the Muslims and protect the honor of Muslim women and children throughout the Muslim world.

Motivated by the Call of Allah and His Messenger to establish the glory of Islam in al-Sham and throughout the Muslim world, and in response to the words of the Messenger of Allah

“The believer is a mirror to his faithful brother; he protects him against loss and defends him behind his back.” (Sahih Bukhari),

Hizb ut-Tahrir, has launched an important campaign and is to hold a vital women’s conference on the 27th of April 2013 in Amman, Jordan. The conference entitled ‘Hasten to Establish the Khilafah to Protect the Honourable Women of Al-Sham’ although focusing on the massacre of Syrian women and children by the tyrant Assad and his murderous regime, is strongly relevant in its ideas, presentations and subject matter in responding to the plight of Muslim women around the world, including in the Far East. Moreover al-Sham is the abode of Islam, and the place of a revolution where the struggle is Islamic and one that aims to establish the Khilafah and apply the Islamic laws. So the victory of the Al-Sham revolution is the victory for all Muslims across the world. From those thousands of women who spilt their sacred, pure blood, and died an honourable death by standing firm against a tyrant ruler, will come honour for Muslim women from the Far East to Africa, Asia to the Arab world. For the Khilafah will liberate other oppressed Muslim lands and their daughters, establishing for them security and dignity, reflected in the promise of the Mujahideen of Syria in their pledge, “O Rohingya, wait, we will help you. O Gaza, we will liberate you. O Masjid al-Aqsa, we’ll save you!” Allahu Akbar!

O Muslim women in the Far East! O Muslim women in Al-Sham! The dawn of the Khilafah is very near and we are one Ummah, we belong to one Deen, our Prophet is one, our Qur’an is one, our flag is one, and our struggle is one. Thus join the struggle for the establishment of the Second Khilafah Rashidah which will silence those who attack and besmirch the honor of Muslim women around the world through the rule of Islam.
