PAKISTAN: Hizb ut-Tahrir activists on 4-day remand

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Terrorism Court No I (ATC-I) on Monday granted four-day physical remand of 35 members of Hizbut Tahrir to Margallah police with direction to produce them before it on October 23.

The police presented 35 Hizbul Tahrir members including Bilal Awan, Chaudhry Waqar, Muhammad Imran, Zaheer Khan, Ghulam Nabi, Junaid Khan, Usman, Sarfaraz Khalid, Saif Ullah, Usman Jamshed, Raja Junaid, Ahsan Manzoor, Irfan Ali, Zameer, Rameez, Aqeel Israr, Rizwan, Zakir Azeem, Muhammad Reehan, Abuld Aziz, Adnan Qureshi, Nauman Hamza, Majid Hussain, Abdullah, Hamza Zahid, Muhammad Shoaib, Tahir Sadzai, Abid on Sunday. Investigation officer (IO) informed the court that Margallah police station house officer (SHO) conducted a raid on a tip-off at a house in Sector F-8/3 where a secret meeting of the banned outfit was underway. He said the police arrested over 30 workers of Hizbut Tahrir form the meeting and recovered literature, computers, mobile phones, banners from there and also took into custody 15 vehicles. staff report
