DUSHANBE -- A Sughd Oblast court found a defendant guilty of membership in the banned Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HT) organisation and sentenced him to 14 years in prison, Regnum.ru reported August 10.
The court determined that Yokubdzhon Akhmedov, 31, joined HT in 2001 and was plotting to overthrow the government.
