Bush aide Rove takes pride in torture

A senior advisor to former US President George W. Bush says he is "proud" of using "harsh interrogation methods" against alleged terror suspects.

"I'm proud that we used techniques that broke the will of these terrorists and gave us valuable information that allowed us to foil plots," Karl Rove said in an interview with BBC on Thursday.

The former deputy chief of staff added that he did not believe simulated drowning, also known as waterboarding, was torture.

Rove argued that the suspects, who had been waterboarded were told in advance that they would not drown.

Lawyers under the Bush administration authorized waterboarding and other "harsh interrogation techniques" - a euphemism for torture used by the former administration - in a series of memos.

The authorization of such methods was sharply criticized. Critics said they were in violation of the US Constitution.

Upon release of his new book Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight, Rove also claims that Bush did not deceive the American public into invading Iraq in 2003.

"Did Bush lie us into war? Absolutely not," he wrote in his book.

The US attacked Iraq under the pretext that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, but an official CIA report in 2005 confirmed that there were no such weapons in the country.

US lies will continue as they believe everything that comes from Israel. Sine they control the media and the lies gets concocted and fed into the news media and the gullible people of US and western world believes it all without asking any questions. The proofs are always made up by zionist propanda makers 24hrly. So of course lies are all accepted and the denigration of Mid East people Muslims are always the culprits and as for the Jews they are always the victims pleading under antisemitism laws. And so the killings of Muslims goes on unabated and lands robbed and properties erased to the ground and yet the UN council don't say anything.
