A summary of the chants and speech:
1. Accounting Ben Ali in particular and the Arab rulers in general for their oppression, silence over Israel, and service of America.
2. Chant: “No recourse, no recourse! Khilafah is the only solution!”
3. Before the march begins the speaker reminds the people that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم instructed us to not cut trees and that the property of Muslims is inviolable. (encourage non-violent protest I imagine)
4. The placards at the front of the march read: “No to democracy, no to capitalism, yes to the Islamic Khilafah.”
5. Whilst marching they chant, “With our souls, with our blood, we shall sacrifices ourselves for you O Islam!” and “Khilafah! Khilafah! Khilafah!”
The western media has tried to characterise the demonstrations that led to the overthrow of Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali as motivated by secular interests: political repression, food prices, control of the media.

Before the march begins the main speaker reminded the people that Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم instructed Muslims to not destroy trees even in military situations and that the property of Muslims is inviolable, implying they were clearly calling for a non-violent but Islamically based struggle.
Some of the slogans that were used can be roughly translated as: “No recourse, no recourse! Khilafah is the only solution!”, “Khilafah! Khilafah! Khilafah!”, and “With our souls, with our blood, we shall sacrifices ourselves for you Oh Islam!” clearly implying that they were ready to face the full force of the security forces with their words and beliefs.
These images show that for these people, at least, this uprising has been their part in the non-violent struggle to liberate Muslims from colonial subjugation under puppet rulers, and replace them with Islam and the Khilafah.
The tyrant puppet rulers are right to fear that their way will go like Ben Ali. And those in the west who would wish to replace their outdated model of dictatorship in the Muslim world with pseudo-Islamic democratic secular capitalist states should know that they cannot prevent what Allah ordains – and that whatever future plans they hatch, they will eventually breakdown.
We pray that this political and intellectual struggle grows throughout the Islamic world, so that Allah replaces the subjugation to foreign powers, humiliation, poverty and insecurity with ‘Izzah for Islam and the Muslims, submission to none but Him and liberating from colonial subjugation, and security for all.
Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
“Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).” [An-Nur, 24:55]
