Cathie Williams said: “If He wants to burn the Quran, let him. He's only adding fuel to his fire.” To remain silent in the face of such an unspeakable act is to belittle the ultimate sacrifice paid by the sincere Muslims around the globe who struggled to defend the honour of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when the Danish Cartoonist effectively ‘drew his own ticket to HELL-FIRE’. Because, you see.., there are some issues that are a matter of ‘Life and Death’ for the Muslim. Even if you do not succeed in nipping these in the bud, you are still obliged to make a stand against them. And paying the ultimate price in defending every aspect (tenets) of Allah’s (swt) Deen only leads the individual attaining the station of a martyr. In such cases - remaining silent or inactive - is not an option for the believers. As regards publicity... the TRUTH has always been out there for those who have kept their head, whilst all around them, people are losing theirs. The correct understanding of the verse where Allah says he will protect the Qur'an is below. The response of the sahaba to the threat posed by the loss of the memorisers of the Qur'an should clear up any misunderstandings we may have that we play no role in protecting the Qur'an. إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ “Verily: It is We Who have sent down the Zikr (the Qur'an) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption)” [15:9] meaning these verses had been preserved permanently through being written in the presence of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم, in the hearts of the Sahabah and through the general permission granted to the Muslims to copy the verses of the Qur'an. This explains why after the death of the Messenger the Sahabah did not feel the need to compile the Qur'an in one book or write it down. This remained the case until many of the Huffaz (memorisers of the Qur'an) were killed in the Harb-ur-Riddah (Riddah wars). Due to this Umar feared for the loss of certain transcripts and deaths of more of the Qurra'a (Huffaz), which might cause verses to be lost. So he considered compiling the written scripts together in one bind. He presented his ideas to Abu Bakr and the Qur’an was compiled. It has been narrated by 'Ubayd b. al-Sibaq that Zayd b. Thabit Al-Ansari said: ‘Abu Bakr sent for me after the (heavy) casualties among the warriors (of the battle) of Yamamah (where a great number of Qurra'a were killed). 'Umar was present with Abu Bakr who said, “Umar has come and told me, the people suffered heavy casualties on the day of (the battle of) Yamamah, and I am afraid there will be more casualties among the Qurra'a (those who know the Qur'an by heart) in other battles, and a large part of the Qur'an could be lost, unless you collect it. I am of the same opinion that you should collect the Qur'an," Abu Bakr added, “I said to 'Umar, 'How can I do something which Allah سبحانه وتعالى's Apostle did not do?' 'Umar said (to me), 'By Allah سبحانه وتعالى, it is (really) a good thing.' 'Umar kept on pressing, trying to persuade me to accept his proposal, till Allah سبحانه وتعالى opened my heart to it and I took the same opinion as 'Umar.'” The above is an extract from Shaksiyya Islamiyya Volume 1 by Sheikh Taqiudeen an-Nabhani |

| This Qur'an banning event should strengthen our iman in Islam, because it shows the kuffar cannot intellectually defeat Islam. Rather their attack on Islam is to draw blasphemous cartoons or burn the Qur'an or physically kill us in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine etc. | |

When someone attacks Islam in such a public manner and this is beamed throughout the world via the media then Muslims need to respond. I agree with Cathie that our response will be used to further publicise the actual attack as happened with the Danish cartoons. However, this shouldn't stop us from responding. What it should do is make us think on how to address the issue and give an intellectual rather than emotional response. A response that furthers the Islamic agenda and aids the Islamic dawah. This is what HT did in the Al-Quds protest. May Allah help us to further His agenda over the agenda of the enemies of Islam. |

In terms of publicity i think Jones received sufficient coverage on sky news, bbc world service, cnn etc so this March adds no impact on that sides! But in terms of Muslim response (which in origin is obligatory to defend Islam, regardless of publicity) adds focus from the relative silence (that Cathy proposes, which actually reinforces that Islam can be attacked!) to the correct thought that “The abuse of Islam cannot be stopped unless we re-establish the Islamic Khilafah State”. May Allah SWT reward our Ummah on this auspicious occasion, we should never forget our responsibly to re-establish the Khilafah. |

| While our Ummah should have been celebrating Eid Festival, they are out protesting this stupid man's plan to burn the Quran. They are increasing ths man's fame. They played right into the enemies hands. He bought the book. If He wants to burn the Quran, let him. He's only adding fuel to his fire. He can never rid the world of the Quran. It's embedded in a lot of Muslims minds. Even our Muslim children. He's only harming himself. His own church has condemned his stupid act. Leave this fool alone and watch him slighter away like the snake he is. Keep up the protesting and increase his size! | |
