The Arab revolutions: Between being saved by Islam and the continuation of servitude to the West

The results that have come in and continue to do so from elections held in different parts of the Islamic world (Algeria, Palestine, Turkey, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt and Morocco) represent clearly sensed evidence in regards to the failure of the West in relation to their attempted cloning project in the Muslim lands due to their failure to convince the Muslims to leave their Deen and cast it aside and this is despite their complete political and economy hegemony over them. It is possible to summarize the causes of the failure of the western project with the following reasons:

Firstly: That the Muslims lived in the shade of Islam for many, many centuries considering that their lives cannot be lived except with it and that their mission in life is to carry its message. This is in clear contrast to what the situation in the West was when they were pleased to separate the Deen (or religion) from life a long time ago after it was established that it did not have the capability to keep up with life and its new developments. This is in addition to the form of religion that existed in the Western people represented no more than rituals and it did not touch upon the reality of their lives and the systems of regulating life.

Secondly: The idea of separating the religion from life began in the west under the heading of religious reform at the hands of the philosophers and thinkers, the issue then developed in the midst of a struggle with the regimes that ruled in the name of the church ending with the victory of the thinkers and their project considering the separation of religion from life as a necessity for revival and progress to occur. This was whilst the Muslims in general and the West specifically and especially their scholars and thinkers considered that the cause of their glory, position of honour and revival depended upon Islam and nothing else, and that it had not been an obstacle or barrier for their progress and flourishing, and not for one single day. Rather the opposite was true and the statement that we are an Ummah that Allah has given honour and might to with Islam had become firmly established in the depths of their souls and if we were to seek might (‘Izzah) with other than Islam then Allah would bring our position down. So Islam had been the factor that freed the people from ignorance, stagnation and low thinking and it formed the foundation upon which material and intellectual revival was achieved in contrast to Christianity in the West which represented the factor which caused their backwardness at the hands of their clergy. This represented the oppressive dark ages in which the darkness led to the halting of thought so that the people would remain under the clutches of those who ruled them in the name of God.

Thirdly: The transformation that occurred in the West came from within and it was not a result of foreign interference but rather proceeded in accordance to the perceived needs of the society and the thoughts of its thinkers. This is the opposite of what happened in the Islamic world where the West imposed the distancing of Deen form life’s affairs through the use of various means and styles. At the same time the Muslims struggled against these efforts to westernize them, and indeed they began to work to liberate themselves from the Western domination in all of its forms through working to resume the Islamic way of life through the implementation of their Deen in their lives and the systems of ruling so that the affairs of their Deen and Dunyaa would be soundly regulated.

Despite the failure of the West in their project to westernize the Islamic world and to impose secularism upon it, so that the Deen was rejected and viewed upon with disdain, despite this failure the West remains insistent upon imposing the separation of Islam from life as a pivotal stance in relation to their policies towards the Muslims. As such they intend to work in the same manner over the next generations and with new styles so as to implement their objectives which have not been relaxed or compromised.

The West began their objective of secularising the Ummah through attempts and efforts to attract a number of the sons of the Ummah to their cause so that they would be at the forefront of attacking Islam, trying to vilify its capability and its rules attempting to cause doubt in regards to the suitability of Islam in relation to ruling using all means that were available to them. Due to this the Western colonialism focused on the main Arab capital cities in which a group of cultured educated people submitted directly to their authority including the likes of Rif’at At-Tahtaawi and Taha Hussein and their followers who had been taken over by the Western culture. So they began to spread their poison into the Ummah after the West had prepared their financial and moral backing. This group had a big affect upon the ranks of the educated for a period of time however this influence diminished with the gradual awakening of the Ummah and her return to Islam and as such this group did not gain anything worthwhile in terms of influence amongst the vast majority of the sons of the Ummah.

And from among the most striking attempts of the West within this area was the attempt to clone her own specific experiences and experiments which began with the religious reform movement in Europe so as to limit the influence of Christianity within its societies and curb the role of the clergy, as an introduction for the separation of religion from life. Europe witnessed during the 15th and 16th centuries the birth of movements demanding religious reform so as to keep up with the changes that were occurring in terms of economy, society and culture and the form of secular democracy that exists today is the result of what came after this movement.

So similarly their appeared within the Ummah a group that wore the clothing of deceit in regards to Islam and began to build a deviated methodology that mixed between Islam and other than Islam arguing that it was needed in this age so that the rules of the Deen would be suitable and inline with the new events and realities in the name of renewal. This group was lead by Jamaal Ad-Deen Al-Afghaani, Muhammad Abduh and Muhammad Rasheed Redaa and many from among sons of the sincere Muslims believed them and ended up becoming a single bloc with the secularists and especially those who were fiercely against the true Islamic project. The Masonic movement from which the leaders of this group belonged to shared in this campaign of destruction and this was after the Aqaa’id (Beliefs) had become corrupted and they were supplied with everything they needed in terms of political and other support to strike at Islam as a ruling system and a unique model for the living of life.

A number from amongst the sons of the Ummah were alert to the dangers of this group from the beginning and this was indicated clearly by Sheikh-ul-Islam Mustafaa Sabri in the Uthmaani State when he said: “As for the call of reform attributed to Muhammad Abduh then it can be summed up that he shook Al-Azhar from its firmness upon the Deen so many of the Azhariyoon became closer to the atheists and the atheists did not take one step closer to the Deen, and he is the one who brought Masonry into Azhar via Jamal-ud-Deen Al-Afghaani just as he encouraged Qaasim Ameen to propagate the celebrations (Sufoor/falsehood) in Egypt” (Ref: ‘The complete acts of Muhammad Abduh’ collated by Muhammad ‘Amaarah p.133/134-1).

And as events unfolded and changes occurred within the Ummah which rejected as a whole the Western culture then the reform methodology that depends upon changing the Deen and removing it by using the name of the Deen became the strategy that the West relied upon to turn the Ummah away from her revival according to the correct Islamic model which would bring unity between all of its regions, implement the Sharee’ah with in it, liberate the lands that have been occupied via the Ummah which does not lack the capability to do so, and it would distribute the wealth and resources of the Ummah in the way that the detailed Shari’yah rules have dictated and not in accordance to narrow confines of national and regional divisions.

And what has become apparent to those looking at the shape of the revolutions of the Muslim people in the Arab lands is that there are focused attempts and efforts to put the methodology of Afghaani and Abduh as the basis for a system of ruling in the name of moderate Islam in an effort to cut the path to real and radical change on the basis of Islam. And it as attempt to replace and get rid of the oppressive dictatorial secular regimes which had served their purposes with a regime wearing fake capitalist Islamic clothing built upon empty ideas and notions so that the Ummah would remain within the western orbit and submissive to its influence and frameworks and tied firmly in the direction that achieves its interests.

Those who are supported by the West in our lands have realised that the Ummah yearns for the ruling by Islam and as such has worked to deviate the Ummah from this direction utilizing the foremost proponents of: ‘A moderate, democratic and civil (madani) Islam’ and who are pushing strongly for the establishment of a nationalistic civil state that is dedicated to preserving the colonial divisions that have afflicted the sons of this single Ummah and they are also pushing for a ‘Democracy’ in order to make distance from the Sharee’ah. They do this whilst being ignorant and careless about the fact that the Ummah with the reality of its current regimes and states could not possibly break free from the hegemony of the West whilst remaining nationalistic states even if they wished to do so, and they would remain a weak Ummah distanced from her Islam as long as stay upon the western democratic path which is the framework which is being imposed upon it.

Due to this is it absolutely necessary to be rid of the ruling regimes and replace them with the Khilaafah ruling system which will rule by the Sharee’ah rules and unify the Ummah. And if this does not happen then they will remain under the domination of the west in terms of their economics, security and weaponry and they will not hesitate to interfere in the name of human rights, the rights of minorities and sects. They will do this whilst those who are establishing nationalistic, civil and democratic states will not be able to stand in the way to oppose this due to their incorporation within the international institutions and their association to institutions which follow them in addition to their acknowledgment of their resolutions and systems that impose submission to the great powers and to the western culture.

And for those who are rejoicing over the west’s being pleased with them and their acceptance of the name of Islam being included within the ruling authority, laws, regulations and constitutions, then they should fear their Rabb and their Ummah in regards to the their Deen which they are bartering with and compromising for the sake of satisfying and pleasing their enemies who destroyed their Khilaafah, ripping it and caused them to live in humiliation and pitiful weakness at the hands of tyrants who oppressed them (according to the western wishes) for decades. Then after this and all of the conspiracies and crimes that they have committed against our Deen, our Ummah and our lands they come pretending that our well being, freedom and independence is of concern to them. And we remind them with the words of Allah سبحانه وتعالى:

“Has not the time yet come for those who believe that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And that they should not be like those who were given the Book before, but the time became prolonged to them, so their hearts hardened, and most of them are transgressors” (Al-Hadeed 16)

And due to all of this we see that there is no way in front of the Muslims except to go forward in word and deed holding fast to the rope of Allah in the way that has been drawn out in a clearly defined way for the Ummah and which has made the establishment of the Khilaafah the Taaj-ul-Furood (the crown of all obligations) and the foremost of her priorities.

And to work so as to unify the Islamic regions under its shade and to implement the Shar’a of Allah within it allowing the Muslims to live their lives according to the political, economic and social systems of Islam and not according to the man made laws and systems. And it is obligatory for the Islamists who have inclined toward the west seeking their affection, rushing to obtain their pleasure and acceptance, and calling for the establishment a nationalistic democratic civil state, it is obligatory on them to leave these un-Islamic calls that are considered as treachery to Allah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. This is in order for them to be saved from the statement of Allah سبحانه وتعالى being applied upon them:

“So you see those in whose hearts is disease hastening into [association with] them, saying, ‘We are afraid a misfortune may strike us.’ But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful” (Al-Maa’idah 52)
