An extemist group of American Christian-Zionists called the ‘Dove World Outreach Centre' has launched a campaign to publicly burn copies of the Qur'an al-Kareem on September 11th 2010.

The disgusting and jahil act is to be condemned absolutely. But it is proof once again that the Islamic Khilafah State is needed today more than ever to protect this Deen.

The illegitimate regimes in the Muslim world continue their close slavish relationships with Western governments despite the continued abuse of Islam in Western countries. They have done nothing in the face of the anti-Islam propaganda by Western governments in their ‘war on terror'. Zardari in Pakistan continues his cooperation with America's war in Afghanistan. Saudi Arabia is looking to sign further defence contracts with the US.

These corrupt criminals - whether dictators or democrats - whether professing to be custodians of Islam or secularism - were silent when the offensive cartoons attacking Allah's beloved Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم were printed or circulated on the web; they did nothing during the attacks upon the Qur'an made by Geert Wilders from Holland or when the Qur'an was desecrated by US troops and in Guantanamo Bay; they have been silent while European governments ban the Muslim woman's dress and minarets in Europe.

The Book of Allah, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and the Muslims themselves have become easy targets for abuse, maltreatment and vilification in the world today due to the absence of the Islamic Khilafah State. Consequently people like these hate-filled extremists as well will continue to feel they can act with impunity against Islam and Muslims.

So too will Western politicians, who are the ones who have created this climate of hatred, while they have tried to deflect attention away from their own destructive, murderous and colonial foreign policies as the cause for instability and terror around the world. Allah tells us about such people when He سبحانه وتعالى says:

بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ

"Yet the disbelievers are steeped in arrogance and hostility." (Surah Saad 38:2)

America, Britain, France and other countries have a deep history of interference in Muslim lands - and elsewhere - for their own strategic and corporate interests: invasion, occupation, leaving behind conflict and division; the support for dictators and puppet regimes who oppress their people; the exploitation of the natural wealth and resources of the land by their multinational companies.

When people have opposed this, they have labelled them as ‘extremists' and ‘terrorists' in order to justify continuation of the same policies, and demonise Islam for political reasons. When Muslims complain about the lies and vilification of their Deen they say that we have to become Westernised - just like Christians who have accepted the abuse of the Bible and Esa عليه السلام, so too must Muslims accept abuse of the Book of Allah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم.

This disgusting act of bigotry epitomizes the savagery of the West's war on Islam. And it is further proof that secular liberal nation states are prone to violent xenophobia and unable to tolerate the presence of diversity in their states. By contrast Islam teaches Muslims not to abuse their religions - even though we know they are false and irrational.

وَلَا تَسُبُّوا الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَيَسُبُّوا اللَّهَ عَدْوًا بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَيُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

"Do not curse those they call upon besides Allah, in case that makes them curse Allah in animosity, without knowledge. In this way we make the actions of every nation seem attractive to them. Then they will return to their Lord, and He will inform them about what they did." (Surah An'am 6:108)

The Islamic Khilafah (Caliphate) treated non-Muslims with dignity, and protected their beliefs. Sir Thomas Arnold in his book ‘The Call to Islam' states: "We have never heard about any attempt to compel Non-Muslim parties to adopt Islam or about any organised persecution aiming at exterminating Christianity."

But these events should not deter the sincere dawah carriers who are working for Islam. In the first 13 years of his mission in Makkah, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم faced slander, and insults, and violent abuse. But he persisted in striving for Islam until Allah favoured him with a victory in the form of an Islamic authority in the city of Madinah. Then Allah exchanged the insults and mockery with respect and dignity.

وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِي شَيْئًا ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ

"Allah has promised those of you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them succeed (the present rulers) in the earth as He did for those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has approved for them, and will give them in exchange safety after their fear. All this because they worship Me alone. They ascribe no thing as partner unto Me. Those who disbelieve henceforth, they are wrong doers." (Surah Nur 24:55)

The Muslim world now desperately needs a leadership that will stand for Islam, defend the Qur'an and the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم from slanders and insults; and that will work to end the continued colonisation and occupation of the Muslim lands.

We call upon all Muslims to work with Hizb ut-Tahrir to remove the corrupt puppet rulers in our lands and establish the Islamic leadership, the Khilafah in their place.

وَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّ الْعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعًا ۚ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

"Let not their speech grieve you: for all power and honour belong to Allah. It is He Who hears and knows (all things)" (Surah Yunus10:65)
