The Arab League has appointed the former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, as a joint special envoy to resolve the Syrian crisis. This appointment was made after consultation with Annan himself and current Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon. This is an unprecedented move, showing unequivocally the bankruptcy of the Arab League and those who supervise it, and their open participation with Bashar regime to kill the people of Syria by allowing him further deadlines until a similar brutal alternative regime matures and replaces it.

This is an unprecedented move, showing unequivocally the bankruptcy of the Arab League and those who supervise it, and their open participation with Bashar regime to kill the people of Syria by allowing him further deadlines until a similar brutal alternative regime matures and replaces it.
Is the “Arab Nationalism” they boast of, and the League established on its basis, unable to give birth to men who can address the difficulties and solve the hardest problems – such that the Arab League have resorted to a man who spent ten years as Secretary-General of the United Nations, offering nothing to the Arabs and their issues?! Indeed, Iraq was destroyed under his watch, where neither he and nor his organization did anything – for they are merely tools in the hands of America and the disbelieving West, who conspire against Islam and Muslims.
What the Arab League has done is just a continuity of giving cover to the massacres committed by the criminal Bashar al-Assad against our brothers in Syria – especially since Annan has called, during his meeting with Bashar, for holding dialogue with the Assad regime, whose hands are stained with the blood of the martyrs.
The Military Council that holds power in Egypt, which embraces this League, did not do anything to support the people of Al Sham against the torment of the Assad regime. Instead it is involved with the League in setting these deadlines. Muslim blood is no longer worth anything for these people; and here are the Zionist occupiers do the same role in their brutal bombing of Gaza. The most powerful thing that might come from regime in Egypt is their possible mediation for a cease-fire! What are these shameful attitudes? Is not the blood being shed is the blood of your Muslim brothers?!
We in Hizb ut-Tahrir, together with the whole Ummah have not and will not be surprised by what the Arab League is doing, for we never relied on it ever. Instead we exposed its reality to the Ummah, over and over again. The Ummah has realized that, and will rush to work with us the day we establish the Islamic Khilafah; where this League will be swept away and dumped into the dustbin of history, together with the traitor rulers and their regimes – like Bashar al-Assad.
وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
