Allah Bless our Dead Workers, and Bestow Patience and Solace on their Familes
On Tuesday, May 13, 2014, following a fire that broke out at the Nate Mine for minerals in the city of Suma in the Manish Province; 282 miners have died and a large number wounded, while talking is still going on regarding more than 150 workers trapped in the mine.
We at Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey ask Allah to bestow His Mercy on our workers who perished in this dire tragedy, and we ask Him to endow their parents and relatives patience and solace, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
This dire tragedy that afflicted our workers, who were seeking to secure a living under difficult conditions inside tunnels that stretch for thousands of metres under the ground; has left deep sadness in the hearts of Muslims. Perhaps the biggest tragedy lies in the privatization of such mines and sources that are public property of the Ummah and titling them to private companies, and the negligence of these capitalist companies of the tragic conditions in which these workers operate.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ راجِعُونَ
“Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”
(Al Baqara: 156)
We as Muslims realize with certainty that death and the life span (Ajal), however, are in the hands of Allah the Almighty alone. We believe that humans’ life span cannot be advanced or be delayed, and that we all belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. We as Muslims cannot but to participate in consolation of our workers who perished, and to participate in the grief of their families.
We at Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey call on Turkey to investigate the painful Suma mine accident, and hold those responsible accountable for their negligence and carelessness if proven, and take the appropriate sanctions against them. Finally, we reiterate our emphasis on the necessity of using the proceeds of this public property for Muslims and these minerals and resources and spending them in the interests of the people.
