Foreign intelligence agencies have come to secure their interests

Chief Coordinator and Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bangladesh Mohiuddin Ahmed in a press release issued today said that FBI and Scotland Yard who arrived this week to join the investigation of the so-called BDR mutiny are not here to help the investigations. Rather they will use the tragic incident for securing the strategic interests of their respective countries – US and UK. After the incident of 25th February, the USA and UK have officially expressed their support for Sheikh Hasina’s government. It is therefore obvious that these intelligence agencies will make sure that the government will not be harmed by the outcome of the investigation. Sheikh Hasina’s government has lost support of the people after failing to deal with the ‘mutiny’. Therefore Sheikh Hasina requested the support of the foreign agencies in order to maintain her government’s grip on power at any cost.

Mohiuddin Ahmed reminded everyone of the current situation in Pakistan where the government allowed the FBI to open its office there after which the USA started pursuing and killing innocent unarmed Muslims in the name of the ‘war on terror’. The government in Bangladesh is now taking the same foolish steps. Mohiuddin Ahmed demanded immediate stoppage of all activities of foreign intelligence agencies in Bangladesh.
