On the 28th of May 2014 BBC News reported, “Fifty-five people have been sentenced for terrorism, separatism and murder at a stadium in China’s north-western Xinjiang region, state media report.” Three of them were sentenced to death. This followed an attack at a street market in Urumqi, Xinjiang – China’s name for East Turkestan. No Uighur group claimed responsibility.
On the 31st of May 2014, BBC News reported further that 8 people were indicted over an incident last October in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
Comment:
After decades of ‘hiding her fire’, China once claiming to be a civilized nation has now emerged as the sociopathic bully of the region. Whilst pragmatic enough to maintain trade relations, it nevertheless treats its neighbours with the arrogance and tyranny it visits upon its citizens and terror it hurls upon the people of East Turkestan.
Muslims there have become foreigners and beggars in their own land. Despite East Turkestan being rich with mineral resources including hydrocarbons, gold and uranium, living standards amongst the Uighur Muslims is one of the lowest in China.
While millions of Chinese Han have been shipped in with communist social-engineering zeal to drown the population of Muslims, Muslim Uighur women were forced to abort their babies ostensibly due to the ‘1-child policy’ to curb over population. The Chinese government has repeatedly attacked the Islamic identity including the hijab of our sisters. The Xinjiang Daily run by the Communist party opined in 2013 that black robes induced depression and scared babies.
China has emerged from the misery of communism straight into the materialistic desperation of capitalism steered by the all-powerful Communist party and the Red Army. Along the way, they appear to have obliterated any traces of a coherent ideology or even a value system or a sense of right and wrong.
Replacing them instead, with the twin-point compass of selfish materialism and Chinese jingoism. An action, no matter how violent or unjust, is justifiable, as long as it accords with these twin-points.
The true civilization should be built upon an intellectual basis that is affirmed by the mind and accords with our nature as human beings. To build it on a system of greed and jingoism, will never lead to a civilization fit for mankind.
Only the Khilafah truly stood for justice and the highest of ideals. Only under Islam was racism obliterated. Only under the shade of the Khilafah will the Muslims and mankind once again be truly liberated and at peace.
Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم and Islam were sent, as a blessing to all of mankind. Not only would it liberate the Muslims of East Turkestan, but Islam could also liberate China from the blind darkness they are hurtling towards. China need not adopt yet another failed Western ideology, after all Islam came to China centuries before.
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
“We have only sent you as a mercy to all the worlds.”
(Al-Anbiya’:107)
