Hizb ut Tahrir Tunisia confirms that the abduction of administrators of the Tunisian Diplomatic Mission in Libya is Islamically unacceptable and condemnable, and entails more sins with each additional hour; as terrorizing a Muslim, as well as harming him and taking him hostage are from the most heinous crimes.

And we say to the perpetrators whatever their intentions: This work above all is a clear violation of the Shar’a (Divine law), it paves the way for a circle of revenge and counter-revenge from the family and on an organizational level. What is even worse, that the intelligence find in such acts a hotbed of chaos to enable the interests of their own countries.

We say to our people in Libya in general: We are one Ummah and the borders between us are a colonial aggression that we reject them all and strive to overcome them. Your brothers in Tunisia had shown you during the days of Gaddafi’s aggression the amount of compassion in their hearts towards you. And had competed in accommodating their brothers and sisters from Libya and safeguarded them from all kinds of humiliation. This tide of solidarity was a great gain that must be built upon and not to be wasted and undone… so as the devils do not blow their poisons among us again.

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

“The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”

(Al-Hujurat: 10)

Our rulers have failed us from here and from there to capture this historic moment towards a solid and a final unity between the two peoples; so do not complicate the issue further and do not facilitate for the enemies’ plotting against us.
