In Bukhari on the authority of Abu Musa the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "Verily, Allah Most High gives rope to the oppressor so that when He seizes him, he does not get away." The he صلى الله عليه وسلم recited:
"Such is the iron grip of your Lord when He seizes the cities which do wrong. His grip is painful, violent." [Hud, 11:102]
Allah سبحانه وتعالى gave Muammar Gaddafi a long life, 42 years of which he ruled the Muslims of Libya. But instead of spending his life in obedience to Allah سبحانه وتعالى and ruling by Islam, he chose to oppress, torture and terrorise his people. Allah سبحانه وتعالى gave rope to Gaddafi, extending his life so he would die a humiliating death at the hands of the Muslims.
Gaddafi's death brings to an end a colonial experiment that lasted over 40 years. Since a young Gaddafi came to power in 1969 the British, so instrumental in his demise, have been the guardian angels for a man who for years divided political opinions. He was the champion of socialist Arab nationalism, a tyrant, and murderer of this own people. For many in the political elites of the Western world he was both friend and enemy, but always a slave to their colonial interests.
There will be much rejoicing at the news of his death amongst Libyans across the world, and who could blame them for his reign was built on pure brutality. Those who fought so bravely to defeat Gaddafi and lost so many lives along the way have every right to celebrate. However the celebration of the Western media and politicians should be viewed as nothing other than sensualist propaganda, the kind Gaddafi partook in during his 42 years in power.
It is hard to believe that the same politicians that welcomed Gaddafi back into the fold of the 'civilised' world not so long ago are now so overjoyed by his demise. However this is the way of Western politics something Saddam, Ben Ali, Mubarak and now Gaddafi have all found out. The Western policy towards the Muslim world has always been one of pursuing nothing but their interests, in the words of ex-Prime Minister Lord Palmerston: "We have no eternal allies, and we have no perpetual enemies. Our interests are eternal and perpetual, and those interests it is our duty to follow".
These are words that still ring true over 150 years after being uttered, they aptly describe the attitude the British have had towards their colonial approach to foreign policy and there is nothing to suggest this is about to change. The NATO strikes on Libyan troops, the secret forays into Benghazi by MI6 operatives and Cameron's triumphant visit to Tripoli not so long ago all show an ideologically defeated state's desperate attempts to relive the days of empire.
The death of Gaddafi will be seen as an opportunity to rebuild Libya in a manner which will serve the West for as long as Gaddafi did, if not longer. The colonial self-congratulatory back slapping will be replaced with attempts to subvert the revolution and ensure the interests of Western corporates are put before the people of Libya. If anything the aftermath of the Iraq and Afghan wars serve as testament to the kind of 'freedom' Western intervention brings to a people.
The truth of British sponsored rendition and torture of Muslims at the hands of Gaddafi and their complicity in his reign could easily be lost in the smokescreen of sympathy Sarkozy and Cameron have been pedalling for the last few months. The legacy of Gaddafi should not only be formed on his atrocities and tyrannical reign but on the people who give him the political strength and backing to carry out such actions. If it wasn't for Western interference in the Muslim world the likes of Gaddafi and Mubarak would have been removed decades ago.
The lesson from Gaddafi's fall from grace is that tyranny can be removed at the hands of the Ummah. The lesson from his legacy is that the Western world should in no circumstances be trusted in shaping the future for Muslims.
The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم has warned us against the naivety of being fooled again by the West into building a future for the Muslims of Libya. He صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
لاَ يُلْدَغُ الْمُؤْمِنُ مِنْ جُحْرٍ وَاحِدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ
"A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice." [Agreed upon]

I remember Libya as a quiet place to live, beautiful scenery and glorious sea beaches. The people were hospitable, and good Muslims. Qaddafi was in the background, generally joked about by expatriates. The pictures of Qaddafi in his final moments are a fry cry from the arrogant, self-opinionated ex-dictator and brutal tyrant, who has had numerous people (both Muslims and Non-Muslims) murdered, maimed or driven to destitution. And yet I felt only a deep sorrow. I felt sorrow for him, for the fighters, for the people of the wilayat of Libya, and most of all for us, the Ummati Muhammadi. Is this to what we have descended? We are supposed to be the guiding light to the people of this duniya. We are not supposed to let anyone rule us by anything but Shariah. We are not supposed to tolerate murdering despots for 42 years before finding the courage to oust him. We are not supposed to kill anyone without proper trial and judgement, except during open warfare. We are not supposed to use the force of arms to kill the people in power and their lackeys in order to implement the Divine Law. We are not supposed to exult over the deaths of people whom we may rightly fear will meet a terrible fate on the Day of Wrath. We are not supposed to tolerate a moment of life without an imam for the whole Ummat to whom we have given the bayaat. We are not supposed to fight amongst ourselves, and thereby weaken ourselves to the point where what has already been fragmented may become even smaller and even more fractious. We are not supposed to take the help of the kuffar. Does anyone deny that the armed rebellion against Qaddafi only succeeded because the kuffar put in a very strong military effort? At one point, the rebellion was pushed all the way back to Benghazi. What is done, however, is done. In the Name of Allaah (SWT), may the people of Libya come to their right senses. May they clearly discern the plots and conspiracies of the kuffar and their agents amongst the Libyan people. May they not allow any further deviation from the Word of Allaah (SWT) and the Sunnah of Rasulullah (SAW) and the Ijmah of the Sahaba (RA). May they concentrate their energies and devote their resources and turn their minds fully to the task of the restoration of the Khilafah. |

This book sums up Islam's viewpoint towards Gaddafi and how he dealt with his people. http://www.khilafah.com/index.php/multimedia/books/2127-communiqurom-hizb-ut-tahrir-to-colonel-gadaffi-1978 Regarding HT's view on fighting the regime such as what happened in Libya, the following leaflet answers this question: Forbidding The Munkar Is An Obligation And Using The Physical Power To Remove It Depends On Capability http://islamicsystem.blogspot.com/2011/03/using-physical-power-to-change-munkar.html |

| They are using Libya for political points and re-elections as well as economic gain. As if Gaddafi (Rahimullah, as a Muslim) alone didn't provide them that. | |

Hizb ut Tahrir is in favor of the method of the Messenger when he was in Mecca and when he went to Medina, and thus follow the Manhaj concerning it. In this sense , I would assume HT is fond of movements who seize the Banner of Tawhid and who strive to defend it. "Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment." (5:33) Gaddafi created Fasad on the earth. The Shabaab and Mujahideen of Libya gave him his "reward" according to Allah (Azzah wa Jall). Allah almighty also gives the Shari' ruling: "If they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease. Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers. Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people And remove the fury in the believers' hearts. And Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; and Allah is Knowing and Wise." (9:11-15) I would assume since the Mujahideen who follow the example of the Messenger's dawah and jehaad follow this hukm that HT would too, but ultimately only HT can answer. "The believers are brothers." 49:10 |

I've heard from many different people that he was good to his people and many others around Libya. I find this hard to believe, but I would like it if you could elaborate on his actions. Such as his passed decision, or if you could provide me with a link (if this has already been covered). JazakAllah Khair for your efforts. AssalamuAlaikum |

Does Hizb appreciate the military struggle as a method to remove rulers like Gaddafi, to achieve the ultimate goal of revival of the Islamic Ummah, through re-establishing Khilafah? If not, then what should be our stance on the Libyan fighters? |

The Broader Middle East and North Africa Initiative: An Overview The Greater Middle East is a political term coined by the Bush administration[1] to englobe together various countries, pertaining to the Muslim world, specifically Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan.[2] Various Central Asian countries are sometimes also included. Some speakers may use the term to denote areas with significant Muslim majorities, but this usage is not universal. The Greater Middle East is sometimes referred to as "The New Middle East",[3] http://fpc.state.gov/documents/organization/43293.pdf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Middle_East The Khilafah Rashidun is coming as Decreed and Promised by the Lord of the Worlds,Allah(SWT), and Prophesied by the Best of Mankind, Muhammad ibn Abdullah(SAW) and no power on Earth can stop or prevent it from happening, it is is Only a Matter of Time ! |

The revolution has been reinforced by nato bombing , special forces , and tactical strategic planning by the west. It looks like Libya is turning from a dictatorship to a new traitorship. The leaders of the revolution are handpicked and nato approved Muslims should wake up and see that the power in their lands lies in the hands of the kafir colonialist, the first step to break the stranglehold is awareness of this , |
