The City of Arus al-Rimal is Adorned with Events of the Islamic Political Book Fair by Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Sudan

Amidst an attendance described as unprecedented in the field of intellectual and political debates, a large number of people from the Madinat al-Abyad “Arus al-Rimal”, 600 km southwest of the capital Khartoum, gathered to participate in the Islamic Political Book Fair organized by Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Sudan during the period from 05/01/2014 to 10/01/2014. The book fair offered numerous books and publications covering all life systems. It also offered many posters and stickers reflecting Islam’s economic, political, social and other viewpoints, as well as the Islamic viewpoint on the crises and calamities plaguing mankind today. The fair’s guests raised many points and questions about the offered culture through panel discussions that accompanied the exhibition throughout its five day opening in a fraternal and friendly atmosphere, aiming to expand the circle of awareness among the masses in Madinat al-Abyad.

The fair was interspersed with forums that began on its second day, led by a political forum under the title “The Social System in Islam”. In this forum, Mr. Mohammed Hussein, member of the Leadership Office of the Hizb in the Wilayah of Sudan, presented a paper to the audience, explaining the most important foundations of the relationship between men and women in Islam, and the systems and provisions built upon this meeting of the genders. The audience interacted with the content of the presented paper and put forward many questions, which led to the continuation of the forum until the last hours of the night on Monday, 06/01/2014. The fair continued to receive visitors from the people of Madinat al-Abyad from various social segments, such as students, employees, leaders of political parties, parliamentarians and executives officers.

Concluding the events of the third day, Mr. Yusuf Hamid presented a paper in the daily political forum, which was titled “The Ummah’s Choice is the Islamic State, not a Civil State”, which raised the grudge of a number of heads of the liberal movements, under the lead of the chairman of the Sudanese Free Party, Mr. Hamid Ahmed Hamid. He attacked the idea of the Khilafah, which gave the presenter of the paper wide scope to encircle the secular liberal discourse, clarifying its historical failure and its violation of the Aqeedah of the Ummah. Those strong responses resulted in a feeling of satisfaction and comfort among the audience and restored confidence in the provisions of Islam and in the carriers of its Dawah.

The Islamic Book Fair continued to welcome more of its guests on the fourth day, in particular students from the Open University of Sudan, the University of Kordofan, and others. A large number of students were quick to join the ranks of Hizb ut Tahrir, expressing their desire to work for the change embodied in the crown of Islamic obligations, that has been absent from the life of the Ummah: the Khilafah. Mr. Issam Atem, member of the Media Office, presented the paper in the political forum, which was frequented by a considerable number from the people of thought and opinion of the city. The paper came under the title: “Humanity is waiting for you, oh Muslims!” It addressed the state of intellectual ruin and conceptual corruption suffered by the peoples of the earth, and the misery experienced by humanity, pointing out the responsibility of the Muslim Ummah towards the wretched, poor and oppressed people of the earth. He clarified that there is no salvation for them except the Khilafah State, which the world’s population awaits today as their salvation from the oppression of lump, tyrannical, stinking capitalism. The audience interacted with the content of the paper and their interjections were supportive of the general thrust of the paper and added more examples to demonstrate the human misery. The people of Sudan prove the consciousness of the Ummah of its ideology.

On the fifth day, the fair continued its intellectual and political activity and mobility. It was honored on this day by the visit of the deputy director of the local radio, who expressed his admiration for the perfection in arrangement and organization, calling upon the Hizb to direct more cultural and intellectual activities, as he expressed his willingness to serve Islam. The fifth day was concluded through the presentation of Mr. Mohammed Qony, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir, entitled: “Following the Ways of Those Before Us is the Reason for the Ummah’s Misery”. In this paper he presented the most important aspects of deviation in the methods of thinking among some young people, who have abandoned the intellectual leadership of Islam by following the approach of the Jews and Christians. Finally, the fair closed its curtains amidst many of the visitors’ call for the need to continue such exhibitions and their accompanying activities, which they described as contributing to the education of young people and raising awareness among the Ummah.
