The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has expressed concern over the threat to the lives of 100,000 children on the western side of the city of Mosul, due to fighting between Iraqi forces and ISIS. According to a report issued by the organization on Monday 5/6/2017, “An estimated 100,000 girls and boys remain in extremely dangerous conditions in the old city and other areas of west Mosul. Many are caught in the crossfire and hospitals and other medical facilities have reportedly come under attack.” The statement said, “Children’s lives are on the line. Children are being killed, injured and used as human shields,” adding “in some cases, they have been forced to participate in the fighting and violence.”
UNICEF warnings intersect with warnings from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Iraq spokesperson Sandra Black, who said that more than 180,000 civilians are trapped in the Old City west of Mosul, facing death by air strikes and sniper attacks or are being used as human shields.
Seven months have passed since the start of the so-called battle to “Retake Mosul” and its liberation from ISIS, as alleged by the Iraqi forces and the America-led coalition forces. Seven months and civilians, especially women and children are paying the price for this war, to the extent that the bodies of the people of Mosul are scattered in the streets with no one to bury them, as in the Zanjili neighborhood, whereas the number of the injured reached hundreds, and it became difficult for relief organizations to provide accurate statistics on their number due to difficulty in reaching them. This is in addition to the presence of hundreds of thousands who are trapped between the jaws of the pliers of ISIS and the Iraqi forces, which put the lives of 100 thousand children at risk, where they are put in the field of fire, killed, injured and used as human shields, and in some cases, forced to participate in fighting. UNICEF stated in its report, on the situation of children in the besieged areas of the western side of Mosul: “Children are experiencing and witnessing terrible violence that no human being should ever witness.”
This is in addition to the destruction of the infrastructure of houses, hospitals, schools, etc., which directly affects the lives of these civilians and exacerbates the tragic situation. Adding to this, is the suffering of the refugees in the camps.
O Muslims:
By Allah, it is anguish in the heart that we are in this blessed month (Ramadan), in which we remember battles in the history of Muslims such as Badr, Ein Jaloot, Hittin and Amooriyah (Amorium), and other battles that opened the lands and subjected them to the authority of Islam, and that Muslims ruled the world; yes, it is an anguish that as we remember these triumphant battles in the month of victories, we talk about battles and wars revolving in Muslim countries serving the colonizers, and strengthening their influence, in which Muslims’ blood is shed and their honor is violated, by the hands of our own people who gave loyalty to America and allied with it in its war against Islam and Muslims. This is the America that kills innocent people in Ash-Sham and Iraq in cold blood, and then it boasts that it was a mistake! The US military said in a statement on Friday 2/6/2017 that at least 484 civilians were killed in the America-led coalition strikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria since the start of the campaign in 2014. This is what he confessed and what is hidden is greater. So, to what state of weakness and disgrace has the Islamic Ummah reached?!
O Muslims:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: «إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ» “The Imam is but a shield, behind whom the Muslims fight and by whom they are protected.” This is what we miss in our time, the Imam al-Junnah (the shield), who governs us by Islam under the shadow of a righteous Khilafah (Caliphate) state on the method of the Prophethood. So, he spares the blood of Muslims, protect their honors, liberates their country and their sanctities from occupation and subordination, and carries Islam as a message of justice, light and guidance to humanity, which will save it from the misery of democracy and capitalism.
O Muslims, we invite you to work hard to find this Imam. Hasten and become closer to Allah Almighty in this blessed month by working with Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the second Khilafah (Caliphate) state on the method of the Prophethood, for in this is the glory of this World and the Hereafter, Allah willing.
وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ * بِنَصْرِ اللَّهِ يَنْصُرُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ
“And that day the believers will rejoice; In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.”
(Ar-Rum: 4-5)
