Comment:

In April 2017, the Imam of the Moscow Yardiyam mosque, Mahmoud Vilitov was sentenced to three years imprisonment for justifying “terrorism”. In 2013 he spoke positively and made Du’a for Gappaev Abdullah, a Hizb ut Tahrir member in Dagestan, who was murdered. It is known that the killers emptied their weapons into Gappaev’s back and disappeared from the scene of the crime, and therefore the Imam Vilitov during his speech said that they are deviant cowards. Of course, the killers were not identified, but the words of Vilitov, that they are deviant cowards, were considered by investigators to be an insult to the security services.

At the time of his arrest, Imam Mahmoud Vilitov, was paralyzed with a second degree disability and was suffering from a heart attack. While in solitary confinement in Moscow, he was transferred several times to the medical clinic due to pain in his heart, and later it was found that he suffered from stones in both kidneys. While in Astrakhan, the Imam was taken several times to the hospital and was discharged a month ago.

The history of Mahmoud Vilitov is a stark example of how Russia treats all those who are sincere to Allah (swt) and who believe in Him (swt), even if he is an elderly Imam of a mosque, who suffers from serious illnesses, but Allah (swt) says:

وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ

“But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined.” [Al-Mu’minun: 71]
