The Islamic Political Party of Hizb ut Tahrir Kenya is highly disappointed by the action taken by the security apparatus in Kenya to halt their Conference in Mombasa. The conference under the theme “The Khilafah We Need Based on the Prophetic Methodology” which was organized to take place on Sunday 8 May 2016 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM was cut short on the eleventh hour due to alleged ‘security reasons’. The main topic was to depict the true picture of Khilafah in its implementation of the Islamic laws from Allah سبحانه وتعالى via its structures, the methodology in re-establishing it and the rights of its citizens who include Non-Muslims in it.

That topic intended to demystify the myopic thoughts directed to the Khilafah likewise to other Islamic laws which have faced be subjected to the same by the westerners. Also it was to highlight why Africa yearns for the Khilafah; a government that is able to solve the challenges bedeviling the continent including economic pillaging and both political and social neo-colonialism by capitalism.

Despite the fact that some members of the party approached the security apparatus in Mombasa City to discuss with them on having the conference will not interfere with any Kenyan laws; but, still they adamantly stuck with their resolve to halt the conference indefinitely on alleged ‘security reasons’. Confirmed by their resolve is clear that the police depended and aligned themselves with hearsay on the conference that it was posing a security threat. It is on that point we want to question the security apparatus did not do thorough investigations instead it made its decision based on rumors from those that want to cause disunity amongst the steadfast and sincere callers of Islam and Khilafah.

For sure the action taken is surprising and suspicious considering the fact that Hizb ut Tahrir has held international conferences previously and it was not witness to or associated with any insecurity. Not only that; for the past six decades its members have been known to be great contributors in different sectors including education, medicine, engineering, etc.

Finally, we categorical state that this action taken is aimed at tarnishing the sincere callers of Justice – ambassadors of Islam who have no weapons; but, have faith on the glad tidings of their Almighty that they will be given a Khilafah on the earth as they had be given those before them. And based on that weapon Hizb will continue in its just calling and surmount all obstacles against it by the Grace and Mercy of Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Nevertheless, Hizb ut Tahrir considers the obstacles to be signs of nearing of the help of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
