Hizb ut-Tahrir is a Political Party and its Detained Members in Tajikistan are Prisoners of Conscience

Hizb ut-Tahrir in Tajikistan reminds that it is a political party and its members who have been detained by the Tajik authorities are prisoners of conscience. They are being arrested and are punished for being steadfast on their religious convictions and the activities of the party in Tajikistan bear clear witness to the claim.

Indeed Hizb ut-Tahrir is a political party based upon Allah سبحانه وتعالى’s command:

وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ

“Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. And it is they who are the successful.” [Al-Imran 3:104]

Its aim is to resume the Islamic way of life by way of establishing the Islamic Caliphate. The party has decided its course of action to achieve authority as being on the footsteps of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, and it will not digress or waver from this path even by an inch. The party relies on the intellectual and political struggle without undertaking material action because material action is against the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم’s way to achieve authority.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is a global party working in about fifty countries. Ever since its inception in 1953, its activities clearly bear witness to the fact that it does not divert from its course even as much as breadth of hair. Even in Tajikistan, it has followed the same method and continues to engage in intellectual and political struggle to achieve its objectives.

Owing to the bankruptcy of the Tajik regime, since 1999, it has used barbaric means of torture in dealing with the dedicated and sincere members of the party, who are part of this Ummah and belong to this land. President Rahmanov and his criminal gang of scholars who have sold their deen for this world, supports such torture and detention either directly or indirectly. Indeed the local and the external media such as the radio ‘Azadi’, the ‘BBC’, ‘Millat’ magazine etc. as well as the so-called organisations supporting human rights, like the ‘Human Rights Organisation’ and UN Office in Tajikistan have, by their silence and lack of concern, been assisting the treacherous in their crimes.

Meanwhile the sincere members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir are being subjected to punishments and torture and long years of detention merely for holding on to their opinions and convictions. It is strange that the judiciary, the parliamentary deputies, the lawyers, human rights activists, the general media as well as the people, are all fully aware that the allegations against the members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir are merely false accusations, fabricated and baseless, yet they all choose to remain silent. In the last ten years, over 300 members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir have been sentenced to long jail terms and spent their sentences in detentions while more than ten members have lost their lives behind the thick walls of the security and prisons. Even today close to 300 members are languishing in jails, not for anything, but for holding their opinions and convictions. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى favour them all with His reward and bestow patience to them!

As for President Rahmanov and his criminal cohorts, we warn them again that any person, group or country that attacks Islam and its Da’wah will be accordingly accounted for his actions by the soon-to-come Khalifah who will punish them as provided for in the Shari’ah. On the day Makkah was opened, such people were ordered to be killed by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم even if they hid behind the curtains of the Ka’bah. More significantly, on the day of Judgement; they will receive severe punishment from Allah سبحانه وتعالى. Now the only option such criminals have is to cease their treachery and put an end to their crimes before it is too late, repent and seek pardon from Allah سبحانه وتعالى, may be one of the victims of their treachery saves them from their own self.

We herewith name the members of Hizb ut-Tahrir who are languishing in jails so that the Ummah comes to know of its heroes and stands up to confront the treacherous ruler. Let the president and his criminal cohorts know that all these tortures and detentions will not break the resolve of Hizb ut-Tahrir’s members. Many of its members who have spent years in jails and have been arrested more than once, continue firmly in their work with the party. This list of names is being presented so that in the wake of regime’s oppression, those who continue to maintain silence do not have any last defence in front of Allah سبحانه وتعالى.
We remind the sincere adherents of Islam of the words of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, who said:

لتأخذنّ على يد الظالم ولتأطرنّه على الحق أطرا ولتقصرنّه على الحق قصرا أو ليضربنّ الله بقلوب بعضكم على بعض ثم ليلعنكم كما لعنهم”

“You will prevent the oppressor and force him upon, and to remain with, the truth, or Allah will clash your hearts against each other, then He will curse you and he cursed them.”

And we remind the dedicated Muslims of the words of the Prophet

“If you see my Ummah afraid to say to the oppressor that he is an oppressor then it is farewell to my Ummah”.

Indeed the members, male and female, of the party have pledged to Allah سبحانه وتعالى that they will always emulate and follow the example of His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم as narrated in an hadith that when the Quraish decided to expel the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم from the Ka’bah, he said: “…By Allah, I will continue to strive for the mission for which Allah sent me, until either this (deen) is victorious, or they sever my neck.”

And we have firm and unshakable faith in the promise of Allah

“The promise of Allah. Indeed Allah breaks not His promise, but most of men know not.” [al-Rum: 06]

“Allah has decreed, ‘Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious.'” [al Mujadalah, 58: 21]
