In the program series “Jihad and Terrorism” which aired on Radio/TV Iman on 03/07/2017 (rebroadcasted on 06/07/2017), the presenter Muhammad Issa falsely accused Hizb ut Tahrir with dangerous accusations after termed it as a terrorist organization.

Muhammad Issa accused Hizb ut Tahrir without quoting any single evidence, though the party has plenty of publications, such as books, booklets, magazines etc. that plainly explains its thoughts and method. Regarding its method, Hizb ut Tahrir made clearer that it is committed in intellectual and political struggle only without resorting in violence or any physical engagement to achieve its objective.

In the strongest possible terms, Hizb ut Tahrir Tanzania condemns this fabrication that carries a malicious agenda against the Muslim Ummah in general and Hizb ut Tahrir specifically. Indeed, this baseless accusation not only dismays us but every sane and just individual. Furthermore, it is an infringement of media ethics and to the doctrine of natural justice of depriving the right of other parties to be heard.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir Tanzania in spite of having physically met with Radio/TV Iman leadership, have launched an official complaint and demanded them to rectify the accusations, we are also trying earnestly to meet Muhammad Issa (presenter) face to face, who in an unfortunate manner seemed to be hesitant and cowardly avoiding us.  A number of extra measures are in the process of addressing this issue.
