#FreeSaadJagranvi, Arrested 22 April 2015

As part of a series highlighting the personalities of Hizb ut-Tahrir who are being persecuted by the regime, we present the case of Saad Jegranvi.

Saad Jegranvi is now 42 years old, married with nine children and a business man. He was arrested late in the night of 22 April 2015 in a raid on the Gulberg Galleria shopping mall in Lahore, where he has an outlet shop.

Saad Jegranvi is from an established and well-known family in Lahore who for generations have been herbal practitioners. He is an alumnus of the elite Garrisons Boys School and undertook studies at Kingston University in London.

Saad Jegranvi is the Chairman of Hizb ut-Tahrir’s Central Contact Committee in the Wilayah of Pakistan. Saad has become a prominent national advocate for the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood and has worked tirelessly for Islam, despite repeated arrests and bouts of severe torture. He has addressed audience throughout the country and is well-respected as a powerful and dynamic speaker. As the Chairman of the Central Contact Committee, he has established relations with the key influential and notable people in the country.
