Freedom of Expression is a Fallacy in Secular Capitalist Regimes

On Wednesday, 16 May 2018, Kenyan President assented into law Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Bill, 2018. Furthermore, on Tuesday, 22 May 2018, Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) issued a public notice that as from 28 May 2018, anyone filming videos for public viewing will be required to obtain a license for the same.

Comment:

All secular capitalist regimes including Kenya thrive on the ‘freedoms hype’ that emanate from people’s limited mind in the name of legislation anchored in constitutional documents. Secular laws are subject to amendments to accommodate divergent views dependent on the current set of leadership. Freedom of expression is only sanctioned when it is pro government anything contrary is non-entertained. As for the latest laws assented they have two primary objectives:

First, to curtail any dissent against government’s malpractices e.g. accounting the rulers when they fail in their duties, expose corruption in both public and private institutions etc.

Second, to thwart any alternative ideological discourse against the invalid secular capitalist ideology and its stinking systems e.g. democracy, social liberalism, exploitative economic systems all of which have failed miserable in taking care of humanity’s affairs. (Cyberterrorism). Confirmed by the Majority Leader of Parliament who stated: “This Bill will deal with all those who use technology to radicalise and recruit our youngsters into terrorism”

The above two primary objects are briefly captured in the below sections:

Section 22 (1): A person who intentionally publishes false, misleading or fictitious data or misinforms with intent that the data shall be considered or acted upon as authentic, with or without any financial gain, commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to both.

Section 23: A person who knowingly publishes information that is false in print, broadcast, data or over a computer system, that is calculated or results in panic, chaos, or violence among citizens of the Republic, or which is likely to discredit the reputation of a person commits an offence and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or to both.

Such is the nature of laws under secular capitalist regimes they are enacted, amended and repealed based on the interests, whims and desires of the status quo who serve the interest of the western colonial secular capitalist regimes led by America, Britain and their allies.

The laws were assented despite strong criticism against them and within an era where there is no stiff ‘opposition party’ to check the government’s excessive powers’. This is after the Kenyan (Jubilee) government’s legitimacy was confirmed by the so-called handshake between Raila Odinga (the opposition leader) and Uhuru Kenyatta and which sealed the fate of millions of followers of opposition politics. The assented laws were followed by a call from US Secretary Mike Pompeo to President Kenyatta on Friday, the 18 May 2018 and they discussed “shared goals of countering terrorism, promoting regional security and ensuring good governance”.

Kenya as the ICT hub of Africa and with its high internet and smartphone industry penetration; at the same time in the fore-front fighting Western sanctioned physical wars outside its borders in the name of fighting terrorism and internally fighting intellectual wars in the name of radicalization and extremism. For it to justify its commitment and efforts to its Western colonial masters, it assented the Bill into law so that it provides a platform for seeking Western donor-funds and general support to execute the Law to its logical conclusion.

The tranquility, peace and prosperity that Kenya and the whole of Africa is in dire need lies in their replacement of the secular capitalist ideology and its stinking systems, which are the result of their sufferings and political and socio-economic stagnation caused by Western colonialists. Their ideological emancipation lies in the embracement of the Khilafah Project that calls for the Islamic Revival that will see the reestablishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the method of the Prophet ﷺ. Under the Khilafah the Western colonialists and their secular capitalist ideology in Africa will be expelled and the true potential of Africa will be realized since the true enemies of Africa would have been chased out of their borders and hence prosperity will be inevitable.
