EU-Turkey Refugee Plan is a Huge Crime

Within the framework of the EU-Turkey agreement, the first ferry with a group of refugees to be deported from Greece to Turkey has departed from Lesbos at 7:10 a.m. The first ferry was escorted ashore by Turkish coast guard and helicopter in the port town of Dikili. A group of migrants are about to arrive from Chios to Dikili… On the other side, it was reported that the first group of Syrian refugees arrived in Germany. 16 Syrian refugees went from Turkey to Hannover by plane.

Comment:

The EU and Turkey agreed on cooperation on restraining the flow of migrants to Europe, the majority fleeing the tyranny of butcher Bashar.

According to the principles of the agreement, Europe will pay Turkey three billion Euro financial support and revitalize the process of EU entrance. Additionally, if the “Readmission Agreement” is implemented effectively, including the other 72 criteria regarding refugees until October 2016, Turkish citizens will be granted free entrance to the Schengen zone.

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey is Complicit in this Inhumane Implementation

The before mentioned agreement was accepted unanimously by the Grand National Assembly on June 26, 2014 by stating “with this agreement on combating illegal migration to Europe over our country, it will be possible to develop close cooperation with the EU.” Thus the “Readmission Agreement” accepted by an ill-minded approach which ignores human live and human tragedy, and instead prioritizes visa liberalization, added another crime to the Parliament’s crimes.

In accordance with the “Readmission Agreement” reached after more than 10 years, Turkey accepted the first group of refugees on the 4th of April 2016. Turkey thus agreed on and became complicit in Europe’s mentality particularly dismissive and hateful towards Muslims, which contradicts the so-called human rights they carry the banner for. That the media reports about this agreement via the visa liberalisation even on this very day, is a shame on behalf of Turkey. And the sole responsibility for this shame lies on the law makers within the parliament who do nothing else than lifting and taking down their hands and in particular the ruling party. With this agreement which the parliament accepted very easily it also takes on the responsibility for all the unjust suffering.

It is important to know while some are travelling around in any city in Europe benefiting from this “Readmission Agreement”, others who fled the tyrant regimes in their homeland will be returned and face torture and even murder.

What are Europe’s and Turkey’s Views on the Agreement?

Turkey does not regard the membership in the EU as possible in a near term. It’s concerned about turning the human tragedy in Syria into an opportunity on its way to Europe. Over this visa liberalisation to Turkish citizens, it seeks to present its more than 40 years lasting struggle towards Europe as a great success. Europe on the other side regards this request of Turkey as the opportunity to get rid of those people who survived from drowning in the seas and reached its borders.

The Situation of the Returned People

It is not correct to consider the “Readmission Agreement” as “simply an agreement of not wanting non-citizen people within their borders.” Because a person who is deported due to this agreement, who is returned to his country is not simply making a journey! For example, Board Chairman of the Solidarity with Refugees Association, Taner Kılıç, expressed that the information they received upon their request to the Ministry of Interior within the scope of right to information act regarding the “Readmission Agreement” with Syria, stated that 2,675 people were handed over to the Syrian regime in the years 2002-2013. Their exist reports of Amnesty International about the oppression and torture that persons deported due to the “Readmission Agreement” face in the Syrian prisons. Also the situation of thousands of returned Muslims to Russia or Central Asian countries is not different than of those in Syria! There is also a pretty bulgy amount of reports by Human Rights Organizations about the oppression and torture by the before mentioned countries towards Muslims.

However; in this world ravaged by the colonialist capitalist system and under the existence of collaborationist rulers dominated by this global system, there will never be a solution to this problem. People will continue to migrate taking all kinds of risks. Until; humanity becomes illuminated with the guidance of Islam and justice becomes established by the Second Khilafah Rashidah (Caliphate) upon the Method of the Prophethood!
