Disclaimer and Clarification from Dr. Mohammed Jaber

We received the following message from the Head of the Administrative Board of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Lebanon, Dr. Mohammed Jaber:

“Repeated articles appeared which stated that the head of the Administrative Board of Hizb ut Tahrir in the Wilayah of Lebanon is the “Shiite” Mohammed Jaber. Accordingly, I would like to clarify the following:

Hizb ut Tahrir is an ideological political party based solely on the Islamic Aqeedah. Its aim is to resume the Islamic way of life through the establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) Rashidah state of the method of the Prophethood. In order to achieve this goal, the party adopted a pure Islamic culture, and derived its understanding of Islam from its primary sources, the Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Prophet ﷺ, the consensus of the Companions (Ijmaa’ as-Sahaabah), which reveals the Shari’ evidence, and analogy (Qiyaas) based on the Shari’ reason only. These are the sources that fully expressed Islam before the political division that took place over the Muslims later on, and therefore the party’s culture is free of the views that emerged with the political, rhetorical and Sufi doctrines that emerged after the era of the companions. What we seek is to re-materialize Islam in its first form as manifested in the era of the Prophet and the reign of his successors (Khulafaa), may Allah be pleased with them.

Hizb ut Tahrir, which holds only the authentic identity of Islam, and without any addition in this identity, addresses all people, intellectually, away from sectarian and doctrinal intolerance, and views all Muslims as one nation. The state that it seeks to establish is a state that does not discriminate between one Muslim and another. It is the state of the whole nation without distinction between its schools of thoughts. Rather, it also considers non-Muslims living in it and carry its citizenship as subjects who are entitled to full care, protection and guardianship, even further to fight in defense of them, just like Muslims.

I am like any member of Hizb ut Tahrir, I carry this culture which adopted by the party.”

Therefore, the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Lebanon calls on the media and insists that it refrain from sectarian madth’habi (school of thought) fanaticism, as stated in the message of the Head of the Administrative board, and not to use selective traits that reflect the same sectarian hatred that Hizb ut Tahrir rejects in all its components and members.
