Today, a two member delegation of Hizb ut-Tahrir handed over an open letter to the Afghan embassy in Islamabad. This open letter was written by Hizb ut-Tahrir – Afghanistan. This letter declares the arrests and torture of Hizb members by the Afghan government and especially the Afghan intelligence agency NDS (National directorate of Intelligence) as against the Islamic values and Humanitarian grounds and urges the Afghan authorities to refrain from such persecutions.

The delegation was led by the deputy spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Pakistan Mr. Imran Yousafzai. He was accompanied by Hizb member Tahir Sadozai. The delegation handed over this letter which was written in four different languages Arabic, English, Persian and Pashto to the authorities of the embassy and secured assurance that this letter will be carried forward to the Afghan government.

In this open letter Hizb has detailed the objective and political methodology of the party and the increasing popularity of the Hizb political activities among the Muslim mujahid people of Afghanistan. Hizb has mentioned in the letter that authorities of Afghan government and NDS has showed hostile reaction to the party’s call for Khilafah and NDS arrested member of Hizb ut-Tahrir Assadullah son of Juma Khan from Kapisa province on 12 March and immediately afterwards arrested another person without any legal justification.

Similarly Afghan government which proclaim to be the champion of freedom of expression and claims that it is against all type of torture, has resorted to the extreme harassment and torture of the Hizb’s members. In the open letter, Hizb has warned the Afghan rulers of the torment of Allah (swt) on the Day of Judgment and urged them to release the members, seek official apology from the party and refrain from such activities thereafter. In the end Hizb reiterated its commitment that no amount of torture or persecution can cause them to deviate from the path of the re-establishment of Khilafah.
