Clarification to Ukrainian Media on Hizb ut-Tahrir’s Syria Stance

On Monday 9 September 2013, I gave an interview to Mr Roman Bochkala (Bocskai), a reporter from Inter (IHTEP), the Ukranian TV channel, in which he asked several questions about the Hizb’s programme and methodology. Today, it was brought to my attention that the news article published by http://novoross.info in which Mr Bochkala claimed that I had said: Ideologist of “Hizb-ut-Tahrir al-Islami” in Beirut confirmed the participation of its followers in organizations fighting in Syria with the opposition….. The Lebanese Hizb is not shy about participation of its members in the Syrian conflict. But the Ukrainian strongly deny. So who do we believe?”

I have to state clearly and strongly that what Mr Bochkala claimed as my quote is completely false. But what I had said is the opposite of what I have been alleged of claiming. I had extensively explained to Mr Bochkala that Hizb ut Tahrir is a political party that follows the methodology of the Prophet Mohammad (saw) in carrying the Dawah and seeks to resume an Islamic society through the establishment of the Khilafah State. This method is an intellectual political struggle that does not include any material actions. The Hizb does NOT have any military or paramilitary wing.

This cheap attempt to suggest that there is a conflict in the positions of Hizb ut Tahrir between Ukraine and Beirut, designed to tarnish the image of the party in the media and mislead public opinion in Ukraine is contrary to the ethics of professionalism in the objective media.
