Celebrating “Rakhi Bandhan” with the Indian BSF whose Hands are stained with Muslim Blood shows the Age of Irony we are living in

Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated Rakhi Bandhan, a Hindu festival that celebrates love and duty between brothers and sisters, at different points along the Bangladesh-India border on 18 August 2016. Making the BGB troops to celebrate an occasion, which signifies ‘bond of protection’ (!!), with our enemy state reflects nothing but Hasina government’s non-ideological and visionless subservient foreign policy.

This celebration was in fact a betrayal the thousands of innocent Bangladeshi men, women and children who were tortured and shot dead by brutal Indian security forces over the past decades. Worse still is that the celebration is taking place at a time when Indian security forces are busy killing innocent Muslims, burning down their houses and livelihoods in Kashmir. The same hand that is stained with Muslim-blood is now offering Rakhi – what an age of irony we Muslims are living in!

Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Bangladesh condemns this disgraceful celebration with Mushriks that brought only humiliation to the nation. And to those who protested the killing of Felani and hanging her dead body on the border fence for days, we urge you to put your heads together and realize that unless the very system and politics of our country changed from selfish secular to an ideological Islamic one i.e. the Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood, true justice can’t be materialized for Felani and the thousand others.

“The believers should not take disbelievers as friends rather than believers. Anyone who does that has nothing to do with Allah at all”
