RasulAllah ﷺ said, «صوموا لرؤيته وأفطروا لرؤيته، فإن غُبِّيَ عليكم فأكملوا عدّة شعبان ثلاثين» “Fast upon the sighted crescent moon sighting and break the fast upon its sighting” (al-Bukhari).
