Can Rampant Liberalism Keep Children Safe?

An Islamic ethos primary school in Birmingham has been told by the appeals court that its policy of separating girls and boys in class after year 5 is illegal.

The ruling by the appeals court, which overturned a previous ruling by the High Court, only exposes the chaos that is the British law. The claim by the judges that both the girls and the boys would be disadvantaged in their education if they were separated is based on flimsy arguments which further expose the equally flimsy judicial foundation.

It has been common practice for some secondary schools in the UK to teach girls and boys separately, as pupils’ concentration and behaviour improves when they’re not distracted by the opposite sex. The schools that consistently achieve the best exam results year after year are overwhelmingly single-sex.

Yet, in spite of the of the oft-repeated claims that the liberal secular way of life is founded upon a science and observation, this issue of gender segregation is a glaring example of the liberal elite’s eagerness to avoid the evidence, as the British secular “values” are far more whimsical than is often acknowledged.

The girls and boys of today cannot escape constant encouragement from the media and from their social circles to view one another through the lens of how appealing they are to each other. They are under extreme daily pressure to validate their worth according to how desirable they are. This is a natural consequence of unbridled freedom in a society built upon material values, which leads to exploitation of the weakest. Such liberal values make the worth of a person entirely founded on their usefulness to others. Even though the champions of the sexual revolution may not have intended that youngsters feel pressure to experiment at an increasingly younger age, it is as the judges concluded that “the motive is irrelevant.”

It is well known that Islam mandates separation between women and men, except in places where mixing is necessary, such as the streets and markets. It is also well known that girls and boys naturally start to become aware of each other at around 10 years old.

The Islamic way of life is established on the belief in one God, Allah, who created us, sustains us, and sent messengers to guide us to solve our problems in the way that is most befitting for our nature, whether personal, economic, political or social. In contrast to this, the British legal establishment has no solid basis, leaving it open to judge right and wrong according to the ever-changing public mood, which is so easily manipulated by an elite group of politicians and wealthy businessmen who control the media.

With the interests of the elite establishment at stake, and their current desire to beat the Muslim from all sides for daring to propose alternative values and hold onto their Islamic way of life, it is no wonder that children are left to suffer and fend for themselves against the anxieties and low self esteem that a consumer driven society generates.
