Breaking the Aleppo Siege sends Shockwaves Throughout the World

On the 7th of August, after a few days of intensive fighting, the opposition broke the siege of Aleppo. Not only was it big news to the people of Aleppo specifically and Syria generally, but it made an echo around the world, however for different reasons.

Comment:

As always a single incident can be viewed differently depending on your view of life, and the break of the siege of Aleppo is no exception.

The enemies of Islam see this as a great setback. The great powers, who collided against the people of Al Sham, are frustrated from not being able to stop the advancement and force their own agenda on the people of Al Sham. Western liberal thinkers, claiming to care for all humans, expose their hypocrisy when cynically worrying more about the “jihadists” winning not only battles but also hearts and minds, than civilian lives in Aleppo.

For Muslims however this is a source of great joy. Not only in Syria, but it echoed around the world. While some were up at night watching the Olympics, many Muslims in the west intensely followed the battle both on ordinary- and social media. Not for academic interest, nor pure information, but because to Muslims around the world, the Syrian uprising has become the symbol and reminder of great things.

It has become the symbol of a people rising to topple a tyrant ruler. A people still fighting despite being let down by Muslim armies and conspired against by world super powers. It has from the beginning been the uprising with the clearest Islamic aspirations, Al Sham is the abode of Islam.

it reminds us of unity based on Islam, and nothing else. The fact that Muslims from across the world, but living in the west follow so intensely, passionately and rejoice is a prove of this. It has reminded us that we, as a united Ummah, can achieve great things. It has reminded us that numbers or weapons are not decisive. It reminds us of our great history and how steadfast men could conquer most of the world. The uprising has made Islamic concepts like victory, loyalty and unity manifest themselves in front of us. It has given rise to a new generation of Muslims from across the world, including in the west, who are ready to take matters into their own hands and influence the political agenda. It has awakened the hope and aspirations for Khilafah Rashidah (Caliphate) according to the method of the Prophet, and so one could continue.

With this and much more, it is no wonder why the break of the siege of Aleppo sends chills down the spines of the West and its allies. Not only was it great news for the people of Syria, but it sent echoes of Islamic unity across the world.

Everything is possible by the will of Allah Almighty. Today Aleppo, tomorrow Damascus, then Al Quds, Kashmir, Grozny and so forth until all Muslims live under the justice and mercy of Islam.
