Both Democracy and the Coup End in Oppression Not Happiness!

The military coup attempt on July 15th-16th, 2016 by a group of soldiers calling themselves ‘Peace in the Nation Council’ has been suppressed through the operations of the Turkish armed forces and police, the soldiers surrendered and gave up their weapons. As a result of the events 161 persons died, 20 coup-supporting soldiers were killed, 1440 persons were injured.

Comment:

The history of the Republic of Turkey is full of military coups. Military coups took place multiple times as a result of the American-British conflict; people have been executed and imprisoned… This time the coup attempt failed, bringing blood and tears.

Although Gülen rejects the coup from the beginning, government officials stated that Gülen and his supporters are behind this coup. As with the operations against the AKP between 17-25 December, the most two important reasons for why this coup took place earlier are the Supreme Military Council meeting set to take place in two weeks and the reformatory change in the judicial law which is negotiated in the parliament these days. The mob that expected its liquidation after this council meeting and the judicial reformation attempted a coup. The topics coming to the forefront through this coup are as follows:

1. The Gülen movement is not strong and brave enough to set out on its own such an attempt. As a matter of fact, the real actors behind coups in Turkey until today are the Kuffar states like the USA and the UK. The support promises made by these states have (could) not been fulfilled, thus the coup failed.

2. Although there have been numerous coups in the history of Turkey and the Turkish Armed Forces, this coup was hasty and amateurish. The most important indicator for this is the inability to silence the President, the Prime Minister and leaders of opposition parties and politicians, as well as the media with exception of the TRT, in spite of taking hostage the Chief-of-Staff and some commanders.

3. The most important obstacle in front of the coup has been the people who went out to the squares at the cost of their lives following President Erdogan’s call to the streets. The people stood up against the bloody handed murderers’ coup attempt and demonstrated the necessary sensitivity for it.

4. Those who attribute terms like “democracy feast” and “guard of democracy” to this people’s upright standing against the coup are striving to create a new perception. Fact is however; that the people put a break on oppression, and it did this by shouting Takbirat.

5. This example of a coup attempt has demonstrated once again that the Muslims in Turkey are able to stand against any power through a common public opinion.

6. The Muslim people of Turkey have responded to those trying to attack their willpower and choice with the necessary upright standing. So it is the rulers’ turn now. It is time to stand upright against the Kuffar states, striking the Muslims’ demands and willpower for years, and against their imposed agreements.

7. Following this bloody coup attempt, more than 6,000 suspects with duties like soldiers, judges, prosecutors, police officers, mayors, and governors have been taken into custody. (17.07.2016) Some of them have already been arrested. Thus the AKP got a coup-like chance for a change in varied institutions, and it will make massive use of it.

8. After this coup, the AKP’s social support for issues like presidency and new constitution has increased, and no serious obstacles are left on its way.

9. This coup attempt is a huge army’s aim of choking back those who possess only 3-5 aircraft and 15-20 tanks by using the civil people. And this is a big weakness of a show of force by putting the people into the forefront.

10. The politicians’ calls for staying in the squares, although the threat of a coup is over now, is both an effort to benefit from this atmosphere, as well as parading the people’s support behind them against the Kuffar.

11. The unchanging tactic of oppressive systems is the tactic of show the death and cajole the people in accepting the illness. Even though it is sought to make democracy lovely by showing a coup, both a coup as well as democracy end in oppression and not happiness. Happiness can only be enjoyed through the implementation of Allah’s Revelation implemented in the Khilafah Rashidah upon the method of the Prophethood.
