Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina visited Canada and the USA to attend the Fifth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund and 71st Session of the UN General Assembly in September 2016. During her visit, apart from her bilateral meetings with some international leaders, she was given ‘Planet 50-50 Champion’ and ‘Agent of Change’ awards by the UN. The ruling party Awami League has arranged a massive ‘public reception’ to welcome the prime minister for achieving the awards during the visit.

Awami-led secular and leftist intellectuals and politicians consider Hasina’s visit as a huge success for Bangladesh and her acceptability in the international community. In the state controlled media, they are over-emphasising the visit and highlighting it as a great achievement for the country. Even to mark this, they arranged a reception upon her return on the 30th of September, 2016.
What Hasina had actually achieved for Bangladesh is not clear to the general people. She came to power without popular mandate and has no concern whatsoever for the country. Being an illegitimate and failed ruler, her only concern now is to stay in power at any cost. Since she was brought to the power by foreign powers, she has always been loyal to her masters, serving and implementing their agendas in Bangladesh. She facilitated American and Indian companies to exploit our service sector and natural resources including seaport, mining, telecom, power plant, education, and garments. She gave India its long cherished water and land transit for inconceivably low fees, risking Bangladesh’s own infrastructure and security. In the same way, to make America happy, she participated in the global war on Islam by harassing, torturing and jailing Islamic activists and allowing the CIA and RAW to infiltrate our security apparatus.
Now, declined secularists are desperate to prove her legitimacy and credentials by excessive praise and propaganda campaign. What partisan fanatics are celebrating as a success, it is actually enslaving our nation and the people of Bangladesh will have to pay for this. By serving the Kuffar and polytheists, one can never be their friend. Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى أَوْلِيَاءَ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah, 5:51)
So Hasina can at best be a loyal agent or faithful slave – a humiliating status not worthy of celebration. All the so-called awards and intimacy shown by the Western masters are nothing but to motivate their agents to render more services. History is the witness that agents can never be true friends. After accomplishing their objectives, the Kuffar throw them away like tissue paper.
We call upon the sincere and thinking people of Bangladesh that remaining subservient to the West and getting awards is not progress. It will never uplift our status. To bring the real change and regain the dignity of the Muslim Ummah we must bring back the rightly guided Khilafah following the Sunnah of Muhammad ﷺ.
