On 28th June a bomb attack occurred in Istanbul Ataturk Airport in which 41 people including 10 foreigners lost their lives and 239 people were left wounded. Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that initial analysis of the attack points to ISIS. As of today including this despicable attack, in the last 7 months Istanbul was the target of 6 attacks. 64 people lost their lives in PKK related TAK and ISIS attacks.
As Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Turkey, we fervently condemn this attack, in the Holy month of Ramadan. We pray to Allah سبحانه وتعالى to show mercy upon those who lost their lives in these sad incidents, and a swift recovery for the wounded, condolences and Sabr (patience) for the families.
In the aftermath of the despicable attack that happened in Istanbul Airport we share these points with the public:
1- First of all we want to emphasize that; “Only those who are ignorant of Islam can commit such attacks in the name of Islam”. For Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in Quran al-Kareem:
وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَابًا عَظِيمًا
“But whoever kills a believer intentionally – his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment.”
(an-Nisaa: 93)
2- Whenever an attack like this occurs, while leaders condemn terrorism, they also make statements that they want to see the powers behind terrorism beside them. Just like in President Erdogan’s statement shortly after the attack: “Especially from Western nations including their governments, parliaments, media and NGO’s we expect them to take a decisive stance against this game of the terrorist organizations.” Even though they know the real perpetrators behind the terrorist incidents are the Western colonialists.
3- It should be known that the only way to prevent these kinds of despicable attacks is to cut all political, military, diplomatic and intelligence relations with America and other colonialist states. Normalisation with terrorist states will not end terrorist attacks. As long as America and all other colonialist states are not thrown out of the region, peace will never return to Islamic lands.
O Muslims! As long as your leaders ally and cooperate with the real terrorists chaos and terrorist attacks will never end in these lands. The only thing that can throw them out of these lands and rule with Islam is the Khilafah Rashidah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood. The Khaleefah is what Muslims are missing, a real commander and strong leader who will rule with Islam, whom we will defend ourselves with and fight behind. The Muslims will live in peace and safety with him. For Rasullallah ﷺ said:
«إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ»
“Only the Imam is a shield, behind whom you fight and you protect yourself with.” [Muslim]
