Regarding Ismail Alwahwah, Who Has Been Unjustly Detained in Jordan

Ismail Alwahwah, Member of the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir in Australia, who was unjustly arrested upon arrival to Queen Aliyah airport on 25 July while going to visit his relatives in Jordan, is still being detained until now. Following Hizb ut Tahrir’s press releases in both Australia and the Wilayah of Jordan calling for an end to this injustice, and the release of Ismail Alwahwah, a delegation from Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey handed both press releases in the Arabic, Turkish and English languages to the Jordanian Embassy in Ankara.

The releases stressed the following:

“Ten days since the arrest, no indictment has been issued yet, and even worse, he is not allowed the right to legal representation, or the appointment of a defense lawyer.

Ustadh Ismail suffers from several diseases, some of which are chronic and life-threatening, so we hold the Jordanian regime full responsibility for the health and wellbeing of Abu Anas.

It is worth mentioning that the Jordanian regime has a notorious history of repression and torture. Many political activists are imprisoned in the prisons of the regime in the absence of a state of law and fair trials, which worries us more about Ustadh Ismail’s condition and safety …”

“We affirm to the security apparatuses of the repressive regime in Jordan that this repulsion of the path of Allah will not dissuade Hizb ut Tahrir and its members from carrying forward its call and working with the Ummah and in it until Allah’s promise of empowerment and the gladtidings of His Messenger ﷺ of establishing the rightous Khilafah on the method of Prophethood is fulfilled…”

Ismail Alwahwah is one of the righteous members of Hizb ut Tahrir, he was arrested by the unjust Jordanian regime in the 1990s. He remained in prison for a long time and was sentenced to death. But was released after it was found that the charges against him were not based on evidence. He continued to carry the call (Da’wah) in Australia, and succeeded in spreading Hizb ut Tahrir’s name and ideas in a short period of time, and managed to mobilize public opinion on many issues of concern to Muslims in Australia.

We ask Allah (swt) to bestow on Brother Ismail Alwahwah salvation from the hands of the oppressors, and to reserve his health and safety during this difficult time he is facing.
