وَالشُّهَدَاءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ وَنُورُهُمْ
“And the martyrs with their Lord, they shall have their reward and their light”
The Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir mourns one of its Shabab – the martyr Mahmoud Jan Nu’manovich Hasanov, who was born in 1974 in the city of Andijan, May Allah’s mercy be upon him, was martyred in the prisons of the criminal Jew Karimov.
The tyrannical criminal regime of Karimov has shown its hatred for the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir since its first days due to the people’s response to the Hizb thoughts in Uzbekistan and so it declared its barbaric war against Islam and the Muslims. After the explosions that happened in Tashkent in February of 1999 and which had been previously planned, the tyrant Karimov pointed the finger of blame towards Hizb ut Tahrir afterwards the frenzied campaign to arrest the Shabab of the Hizb began.
Mahmoud, May Allah’s mercy be upon him, was one of the Shabab who was arrested and he was given a prison sentence of 9 years under the charge of affiliation to Hizb ut Tahrir. The long years that he, May Allah’s mercy be upon him, spent in the tyrant’s prisons did not weaken his resolve. Indeed, our Brother’s Da’wah continued in the prison to the level that his distinguished activities in the Da’wah to resume the Islamic life caused his wardens many disturbed restless nights. For that reason, they extended his imprisonment for long periods and did not release him until after the period of his sentence had ended.
The prison UGA 64/66 in the city of Navoi is infamous for its torturing of people to death and in fact in most cases the torture is fatal. In addition, the prison administration use criminals to accomplish the criminal dirty aims which includes the torture and killing of Muslim prisoners. Our brother stayed like this under the torture, degradation and physical and mental pressures for many long years until he passed away as a Shaheed (Martyr), we count him as such whilst we do not seek to commend him to Allah.
On February 3rd, the relatives of Mahmoud Jan Nu’manovich Hasanov received his pure body which had signs of barbaric torture. So that the crimes of Karimov’s regime were not exposed and so that the people do not bear witness to them the body of Mahmoud was handed to them at night and they demanded that he be buried immediately without informing relatives and friends. To confirm that was carried out, ten policemen stayed in the presence of the family of the Shaheed (martyr) until his purified body had been buried in the ground.
We in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir provide our deepest condolences to the family of Brother Mahmoud Jan asking Allah to bestow upon them patience and solace. Just as we ask Him Subhaanahu Wa Ta’Aalaa to hasten His salvation and victory for us and to open the hearts of the people of power and prevention within the Islamic Ummah so that they give the Nusrah (support) to Hizb ut Tahrir for the establishment of the rightly guided Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the methodology of the Prophethood, which will avenge the blood of the martyrs, free the captives and prisoners and impose a swift punishment upon all of the tyrants and their collaborators.
وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِين ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَب يَنقَلِبُونَ
“And those who have oppressed are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned”
(Ash-Shu’araa: 227)
