GCC Summit: The Puppeteer Tightens his Strings

On Thursday 14 May 2015, members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) met with US President Barack Obama to discuss various issues including Syria, Yemen, Iran and the future of the Middle East. The absence of key Arab leaders, including King Salman ibn Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia demonstrated the strained relationship between the Gulf countries and their leader, the USA.

Recent weeks have seen increased negotiation between the US and Iran after US recognition of Iranian influence within the Middle East. This has created apprehension amongst the Gulf leaders, prompting the US to hold this summit to normalise its relationship with Tehran and to emphasise its cooperation with the Gulf countries. As countries such as Bahrain and Saudi Arabia continue to see sections of their populations display political dissent, the Gulf countries have requested the US to strengthen cyber security and counterterrorism capabilities. The US has also promised to enhance existing military capabilities in light of the political instability of surrounding countries such as Iraq and Syria, whose futures hang in the balance and the outcomes of which could change the landscape of the Arab world.

It is clear from this that it is no one but the US who has benefited from this summit.

The introduction of Iran in negotiations has demonstrated the temporary nature of US alliances and the permanency of its interests. The fear of this new found relationship will force Gulf countries to become even closer to the US in fear of losing its support, hence allowing the US to control the political landscape of the Gulf with greater ease.

More importantly, the US has strengthened the position of its puppets by bolstering both internal and external security apparatuses whilst also emphasising the threat from foreign entities such as Iran and ISIS to further cement GCC support for US operations in Syria and Iraq. This is vital for the US crusade in this region in order to ensure the subjugation of Islamic factions who are steadily gaining momentum.

Oh Muslims, Wake up from your slumber!

The leaders of the Muslim nations once again approach the leader of the Kuffar who seek nothing but to maintain their interests in the region. The Gulf countries are tricked into thinking that they will be in charge of their issues whilst the real pilot is the USA. How is this in line with the promise of Allah سبحانه وتعالى when He says,

وَلَن يَجْعَلَ اللّهُ لِلْكَافِرِينَ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ سَبِيلاً

“And never will Allah grant to the disbelievers a way (to triumph) over the believers.”

(Surah An Nisa: 141)

Indeed these actions expose the Gulf leaders as having no thoughts of their own as they beg their master the USA for their own security. Their actions are only for themselves as they show little hesitation in attacking our brothers and sisters in Yemen, Iraq and Syria while supporting dictators in the rest of the Arab world. The weapons they obtain continue to gather dust as our brothers and sisters in Palestine continue to suffer at the hands of the occupiers.

This will continue to be the case until the law of Allah سبحانه وتعالى is established and the interests of Islam are made above all. It was with the presence of the Khilafah State that the Muslims became a world superpower and a beacon of light; and history will only repeat itself with its return.

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»

“…and then there will be Khilafah upon the Prophetic method and then he remained silent.” [Ahmed]
