HT Bangladesh calls upon the people to protest against insulting cartoons of prophet Muhammad (saw)

Chief Coordinator & Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh, Mohiuddin Ahmed issued a press statement today calling upon the people to organize protests after Jummah prayers on Friday 07.09.07 against the insulting cartoons of the Prophet (saw).  He also reiterated his condemnation of the arrests of 8 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh on 04.09.07 and demanded their immediate release.

Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the cartoons depicting our beloved Prophet (saw) as a dog is a part of the Western crusade against Islam and the Muslims. Through these repetitive attacks against our aqeedah the Western colonialists desire that the Muslims surrender to their malicious campaign against Islam. If the Islamic Ummah stops protesting and resisting this Western crusade, they will lose all honour and dignity accorded to them by Allah (SWT).

Mohiuddin Ahmed added that the arrests carried out by the government on 04.09.07 are deplorable. It cannot be a crime in a Muslim country to protest against insults of the Prophet (saw). By making these arrests, while failing to utter a word of condemnation against the cartoons, the government has clearly taken the side of the crusaders.

Therefore, Hizb ut-Tahrir  Bangladesh calls upon the people: to continue protesting against the insulting cartoons until the government condemns the attack on the Prophet (saw); releases the people who were arrested; recalls the Bangladeshi ambassador from Sweden and expels the Swedish ambassador from Bangladesh.
